If we win 85 games without bringing in any free agents, I'd see that as a successful season.  Especially if it came with extensions for guys already on the roster.  Another 5 game improvement, a young and improving core with more of Stras and Harper to come in 2013.  Rendon and others on the way in the future.  I don't think we need to make the playoffs or win the championship for 2012 to be considered successful.

You're either in the parade or watching it.

Pretty burned out on this bullcrap but count me in the "astounded that people consider 2011 anything but a success" crowd.

Maybe our goals for the season were different. My goals would have been to improve by 10 wins. Concerned that won't happen again, but it's December.

Rizzo's stubborn tunnel vision is getting on my nerves.

If Buerhle was the only pitcher you were ever going to even consider acquiring, then you should have acted like it, and gave him what it took to get him signed.

With limited resources to work with (welfare budget), there isn't much Rizzo can really do but serve as the current insulator for the Lerners and their shills.

No. People are just angry because they didn't bid on Darvish.     Even after the reports came out that Toronto had won the bidding some people refused to believe and insisted the Nats had won so they shouldn't be complaining about it.

PA is using scapegoats for the Lerners again.  Everyone deserves blame for this offseason thus far.

Disappointed in this offseason thus far. Rizzo better do something (and I usually count myself among the rational).

So .... Explain to me again why we didn't protect Brad Meyers in the Rule 5 draft, but instead protected Doug Slaten and then released him a few days later?!?!?!?!

Bump

offered fair market for Buehrle, got rebuffed

instead get rid of our best pitching prospect for a guy who walks the park and has almost a 1 run differential in home and away era, and what the hell why not throw in our best catching prospect and two major league ready starters

I don't.  As Kev already said - a lot of miles and not highway miles either.
