Rizzo's big offseason moves:

Rosenthal: 2.0 IP, 40.50 ERA, -0.7 WAR (unplayable)
Dozier: .152/.220/.217, 13 OPS+, -0.7 WAR (unplayable and his inflexibility is killing our roster)
Yan Gomes & Kurt Suzuki: each has a 62 OPS+ (cool guys that we banked on being league-average)

At least Barraclough hasn't been useless, but it's SSS on all this. The team is 7-8 despite the hot mess above, having Difo at SS, and going 1-3 in Scherzer's starts. This will get better - which it needs to, as Rendon isn't going to hit .450.

Of course it's early, so part of this is tongue-in-cheek, but there's not really a real argument to say "Rosenthal is better than this" or that Dozier isn't permanently cooked like he looked for most of last year. It's possible Rizzo sunk close to $20 million on two non-rosterable players.

Balance out Rendon regression with Soto improvement, and maybe Zimmerman will get off the interstate by May 1.

Dozier worries me more than Rosenthal. Rosenthal is coming off a year layoff and he still throws 100 with movement, and indeed he looks to be sloooooowly putting pieces into place. Dozier looks lost. Tons of swing and miss, tons of pounding the ball into the ground. Again, SSS, but dude looks way off right now.

Corbin's almost a different category from the short-term fix type signings listed. Given what they're paying him, he better be good, and he better be good for a while. But it was odd to exclude him nonetheless.

He does, I meant to include a line about him looking good. But signing the unanimous best pitcher on the market doesn't get a ton of credit from me tbh

To be fair, Suzuki/Gomes are a way, way higher bet to make it through the season than Ramos.

It's time, but more so for hiring Davey Martinez. I don't know how he could have come away impressed after interviewing DM. I also think calling up Kieboom at this point seems to be a bit of a reach, but Difo is also not a guy want to start for 2 months . The bullpen? Yep, that too.

The fact that he is 100% immune to any and all criticism is incredible. The day a Washington Post writer/columnist even mentions that he may have messed up will be the first.

He built this team with no depth, not to mention the revolving door of managers. I don't blame him for Dusty getting let go, but hiring Martinez essentially immediately seems to be an enormous mistake.
