Meh, Im less concerned. To be honest, I was surprised it took so long for DiPuglia to leave. Would have thought someone would have grabbed him up sooner.

The Nationals have informed six pro scouts they will not return, sources tell me and @BrittGhiroli. Those let go: Special asst’s Willie Fraser, John Mirabelli, Mike Pagliarulo, Matt Ruebel, Jon Weil, plus pro scout Jeff Harris. Cuts also made on amateur and int’l side.

These cuts come at a time when president of baseball operations Mike Rizzo still has not agreed to an extension and the Nationals are for sale. All of the pro scouts let go were hired within the last two years.

The team is still for sale. The actually hangup is MASN devaluing the franchise and Ted Leonsis not budging until MASN is resolved. Who knows if/when that will be resolved, but it sure looks like the Lerner group is going to run bottom dollar until they get their payout.

Pretty much. All we heard is for two or three years was how much the front office wanted to expand. Now they're cutting people.

The team can't be valued unless MASN is settled and the MASN deal is designed in a way (regular resets that are all litigated for years) that makes it impossible to settle. The Lerners don't want to take a discount and no-one is paying full price, so they are holding an asset they no longer want. At this point, I'm just happy they signed Crewes
