Holy crap. We had a deal with Acuna at one point?

Christ. That outfield.

And then you wouldn’t have traded for Eaton and you’d still have Giolito.

Although it’s hard to complain now.

They would have never kept all three. One would've been traded for a reliever or some dumb crap at some point.

Remember when the White Sox wanted Robles AND Soto for Sale?

Not complaining, just didn't know where else to put it.

If we still had Giolito, would we have signed Corbin in the offseason? Would we have dealt Giolito and Robles for Sale?

We signed the wrong guy. Rendon was absolutely the right move over Strasburg and that's not a slight to Strasburg. Just way riskier and will age less gracefully.

It's a false dichotomy, we should still have both, but regardless absolutely boneheaded by the team. Spend all that time to win, do it and then you take your ball and go home. What the freak.

Makes you wonder, if we lose game 7 would we have brought both back?  Are we now just throwing in the towel so to speak for 2020 and try again in the future.

The Dodgers reported that they didn't make another offer to Rendon because they were sure he was interested in playing there.

I wonder if the same isn't true for DC.  All these things we will just never know.

If Rendon had any preference to staying here, I'm sure he could have worked something out.  I don't guess that he hated it here, but sure seems like he was ready to move on.

To clarify: the Nationals travel postseason policy for wives/families caused a lot of anger.(Other teams much more liberal.) Rendon spoke up in a team meeting & was a big reason why they were allowed to have families on the plane at the World Series

Why is there a thread titled "Fire Rizzo" still up coming off a World Series?

This thread goes back to 2010.  We always have a "fire" thread for every new management hire.  Even if folks don't really want to fire the person, we post thoughts about management in a "fire" thread.  "Extend" threads are discussions about guys whose contracts are up and we might lose.

There was a Fire Dusty thread the day after he was hired.  Same for Matt Williams.

I wonder how long it took the Korea Kia Tigers message board to start a fire Matt Williams thread?

I think just a "Mike Rizzo" thread would be a better look.

Actually, wasn't there a "Fire [Insert New Manager's Name Here]" thread before Davey was hired?

Actually there were two Fire Matt Williams threads.  The first was the day after he was hired; that one was a joke.  The second was sometime during his second season, and yes, that was no joke.

Discussion of Dusty's hiring by the Astros moved to the out of town scoreboard thread on the Astros.

And it's a good idea to have such a thread.  So why not retain this here ?
