I'll pitch for 3 dollars.
Nick pitching? I would love to get NJ again!

Please no more Nick. I love the guy, maybe he could be the analyst, but he can't comb his hair without ending up on the 60 day.

I personally would be happy if they went the Morse/Nick route for first base and focused on Pavano instead.
Pavano  wants a three year deal and the Twins don't seem to want to give him  more than one year. So either offer him a multi-year deal - two would probably get him - or sweeten up a one-year offer. In any case, get it done.
But Rizzo won't go that route because (1) Nick doesn't fit his profile, and (2) Morse doesn't fit Riggleman's profile.  Which I think is a shame.  It would be a risk, I know.  But if Nick could stay healthy - and platooning him could help keep him healthy - a Nick/Morse combination could be a winner.
He was supposed to be a DH last year and that didn't help him stay healthy.

Good thinking now the Nationals have their color man for next season.

Maybe the Nationals should get Robert Fick, Dmitri Young, or Brad Wilkerson to come and play first.

I wouldn't be opposed to Paul Lo Duca being color man.

Of course I never watch the Nationals either.

Ed, Ray,Coladar... lay it on the line what will the Nats do at first base. I don't think they will get a front of the line pitcher/starter. Not this year! So... the $$$ will be there to spend.

Spin if I had a true say some players would still be Nationals and some that are here would be out the door.  I don't think LaRoche wants to come to DC, so at this point give the job to Morse at first.

Lo Duca is a good commentator on TVG the horse racing network.

Either Mike Rizzo reads my posts, or we think exactly the same way.  Sign Nick Johnson.

Washington could use the payroll space to continue to add to the pitching staff.

It's a shame that either the FO thinks it has to be an either/or proposition regarding pitching/1B or that the FO office doesn't care that the it is fully accepted as true in the baseball world that the Nationals are cheap.

Morse would be a great option. Get over the ... performance enhancing thing and just play the guy! Period! :old:

I say this every year and I will say it again... We can't control who wants to play for the Nats!  :bang:The players either want to play for us or they don't. Noit every player is going to get 126 million. Even if Werth didn't want to play for us I would doubt there was a bidding war for his services.

Morse,Spinner,Desmond,Zim is not a bad infield. They can hit and play a little defense.  Bernadina,Nyger,Werth is a good defensive outfield with some power and speed.
Lannan, Marquis,Maya,Livo, J Zimmermann will not scare anyone however a bullpen of Balester, Rodriguez,Clippard, Storen, Slaten, Burnett,Stammen will scare the b-jesus out of the opposing hitters. Balester,Rod,Clipp,Burnett, Storen 95- 101 MPH coming in high and tight.  :dagger:

Storen 95-101? When was that? I don't recall him throwing heat like that.

I think he's talking about all of them.  Storen has a mid 90's fastball, and Rodriguez is supposed to touch triple digits.

Blech. To me, that looks like 1/3 of a Major League outfield

Where did the phrase b'jesus come from?

first, you have to get some of that correxit dispersant to loosen up the oil in his hair.  that way his comb can make it through his hair more easily.

At this point, I really don't want either of them.  The only 1B worth a damn was Dunn - let's just give Morse a shot and focus on two pitchers.

Orioles board rumor says Lee signed with O's pending physical. Don't know whether to believe this or not.
