I've already got solid colored home and away curly W caps that i've had for years.  Seriously doubt I will be spending extra coin to buy more hats until I see that the team is committed to spending on on-field improvements.

Okay that was a CHEAP shot, I probably won't buy new hats regardless.  CIC.

I am a hat junkie.

Fair enough.

And not supporting the team kind of creates a vicious cycle althought I have never heard the owners vocalize what they must think.

Fans: I am not supporting this team until they spend money.

Owners: We can't afford better players because of low attendence and poor merchandise sale.

Which creates a downward spiral of doom with owners and fans blaming each other for the poor state of the team which eventually results in the team skipping town or becoming the Royals or Pirates playing in beautiful ballparks with no support and no money.

Bah, if the Lerners didn't figure out from Strasburg what can happen in DC if they ever field a winner they never will.

It isn't on the fans. We have been patient.

The time to act was in the off-season of 2005, but Bud Selig refused to name an owner. Since then attendence has dropped every season, and would have dropped last season without the Strasburg games. The Nationals are just starting out down a very dark and painful road of not spending and then "getting the attendence they deserve." There is still time to turn back, but if they continue to not improve then less and less people will show up, and sooner than later the team won't be producing enough revenue to justify spending.

Want something original?  Have some military people design ballpark camo so that 3d base coaches  cannot track our players in the OF when they catch fly balls.

I wish they would do away with the stars and stripes alternate uniform...the intentions may have been good, but it looks like something that a really twee male figure skater would wear for a Sousa routine.

That's a pretty big leap from me not buying another hat because I already own two :|

Not saying you don't support the team. Or that people here don't support the team. Watching the team on TV leads to ad revenue for MASN (which may or may not help the Nats), but it is still support. More just a thought already in brain that came out when it felt like it. I know I have seen some people say they are boycotting the team until they spend money. Which to me seems illogical, because if everyone had that thought then the team would have no money to spend.

This hat is labeled "alternate", so it is possible they are doing away with it.

Oh I know you weren't picking on me, I just question how many people truly "boycott" the team.  As Snakeoil said, they'll get the attendance they deserve.

I think general disinterest is more serious than anyone's threat to boycott....

NO NO NO black!  I'm sick and tired of seeing teams with black uniforms.   Besides,  who would want to play in 99 degree heat wearing black!  2 colors I really don't like.  Black and light pink!

GEORGE: This uniform, what's it made from?

TARTBULL: I don't know, cotton?

GEORGE: No. This is not cotton. Here, lemme see. <Tries to look at the tag on the uniform. Tartabull gets creeped out and resists.> Will you stop it? <Looks at the tag.> Oh. Of course. Polyester!

TARTABULL: So?

GEORGE: I can't believe you're not playing in cotton.

TARTABULL: Well, this is what they give us.

GEORGE: You know they used to make leisure suits out of this fabric?

TARTABULL: You really think cotton's better?

GEORGE: Of course! Alright, maybe I'll say something to Buck.

Tonight about 6pm and no....I STILL haven't gotten my invitation.

Team store will be open on Thursday for the un-invited and the Team site says players (not further identified) will be there to sign autographs.
