LandRover with the red ball.  I will laugh out loud at every chump I see driving a rover with dealer tags.

the PNC children's naming rights commercial should be banned and all copies destroyed. But the owner of the tanning salon should get his own HBO Max series.

I'm there with the Ellen DeGeneres skin stuff with the customer explaining her love of the product into a cellphone like video. Not going to criticize cosmetics. If it helps you feel better about how you present yourself, great. What I'm beginning to hate is these commercials that try to package "influencer" types & an Instagram/ TikTok look where I am supposed to jump out and buy something because some rando is talking into their camera about it.

The Capital One ads with Jennifer Garner in them. Her baby talk and that dazed, faraway stare she constantly does are so grating.

Rexulti redhead. It's an anti-depressant, ok, but she walks through the commercial with a smile that looks like The Joker.

Every Liberty Mutual ad.

Their advertising budget has to equal or exceed most countries' GDPs at this point.

I wonder if they realize how many potential customers they are actively alienating and even angering by forcing them to walk through that awful 3-D commercial. Probably not.

someone posted on reddit a few weeks ago that they recorded the jingle and played it randomly through the C&D terminal.  Somehow they got out alive. :)

As a tonic to all the crap ads in this thread, one of the all time classics. The CGI even holds up better than modern Marvel films.

For us, typically the most annoying ad will be whatever plays the most during Caps games. This season, there’s a further wrinkle—because YouTube TV doesn’t carry Monumental, we watch the games via the Monumental+ app, to which we get a subscription as part of our Caps season tickets. But they don’t air the same ads through the app that they do on the channel carried by TV providers. Instead, they largely air the same three or four ads at every commercial break—which, right now, means that at least once during each commercial break (and sometimes twice), we see the ad for some online branding service featuring the two female real estate agents in which one of them rebrands herself to look like some medieval figure sitting on a throne made up of open house signs. That ad has quickly become almost as annoying as political ads during the fall campaign season (or when David Trone is running for something, given how many ads he runs).

A couple of thoughts.  The commercial ran in 2000, 8 years before HP acquired EDS so the banner at the top was added later.  At the time, I was working for Perot Systems, which Ross Perot had founded after a falling out with GM, who had acquired EDS in 1984 (but later disposed of in 1996).  We had a lot of ex-EDS-ers at Perot Systems, and this commercial was quite the topic of water cooler conversations for many days, quite the classic.

Tom Brady's Pizza Hut commercials. Dude, you literally formed a business out of your stupid diet. You haven't had a slice of pizza in 15+ years

It must be the only time he's appeared on TV and not said 'WOW'... :D   ;)

You Tube have now introduced 90 seconds of unskippable ads, when watching on a large screen TV app. They claim it's to replicate the 'traditional TV viewing experience' Yeah, right...

We have YouTube Premium, which is ad-free.  Except that quite a few content producers are sponsored and so you get ads embedded in the video itself.  You can typically hover over the timeline at bottom and a "Jump Ahead" button appears to the far right.  Clicking this allows you to skip to the end of the ad.

Even "real" TV shows have been doing something similar for decades now.  I distinctly remember the awkward segments during episodes of "Bones" where they'd be on the way to a crime scene and start blathering on about the amazing features of their Ford sedan or SUV that they loved so much.

"Chuck" used to do the ad and satirize it at the same time, like having the Buy More manager call the staff in for a meeting and waxing lyrical for a minute or so about the Subway sub he was having for lunch before getting to the main point of the scene.

I was quite chagrined to discover that the primary election for which David Trone is subjecting everyone to his biennial barrage of non-stop commercials is not until June 23. Two more months of it. And now he's decided to run negative ads, which he has not done in the past. (I was amused to see that his latest ad contained a blatant spelling error right on the very first screen. Evidently other people noticed it as well because last night it was fixed.)

I suppose maybe this is Maryland's way of paying Virginia back for the nonstop smear campaign by both sides in last year's gubernatorial election and the barrage of ads in this spring's special election.
