Probably a bit too deep of a question to spring on you... but I'll give it a shot. Do you know the status of Wirkin Estevez? Do the Nats plan to send him to the GCL next year, or will he get another year of the DSL? Also, what's the scouting report on him? His numbers, at the age of 18 is quite impressive

How can you not know what one of your big time prospects is doing? Especially a guy that you just touted as one of your big international signings?

I think it depends on when he asked him.  If he asked him right after the Harper negotiations and Strasburg going down, I could understand it.  If he asked him in the middle of September, perhaps that's more alarming.

That isn't really concerning to me.  Rizzo should be more concerned with the big league product and should leave the in-depth monitoring of guys at the lowest level of the minor league totem pole to employees like Doug Harris and Roy Clark.

To clarify, I went back and asked Ben about his answer and he stated that Rizzo was busy at the time of the question... so, I can breath a bit easier now knowing Mike doesn't completely ignore the minors, and his top prospects.

An addendum on Rizzo/Estevez: When I asked him, I think it was asking for an update on how he's doing. He was busy at the time, and didn't have one, but I think it's safe to say he knows what his prospects are doing.
