Even with the expanded rosters, we still have so many bad options for pinch hitting.

End this already. I'm considering watching the Giants/Padres game instead of the Pathetiskins anyway.

I'm definitely doing that.  I've already accepted that the 'skins aren't making the postseason so I might as well watch a game that matters.

And how the hell are we 2-10 in extra innings.  That is cringeworthingly bad.

This is excruciating. And Bob, how in the world are you surprised by Espinosa's K's? That's how he operates.

I guess I shouldn't expect to win at this point, we have four "good" hitters in Zimmerman, Dunn, Willingham and Morse, and none of them are on the field right now.  Our lineup is completely threatless.

Do I have this right;  if the Braves hang on and win then the Padres beat the Giants.  The Padres play the Giants on Monday for the NL West title and the loser then plays Tuesday vs the Braves for the Wild Card berth.  If I'm right who hosts the games?

I think it's a coinflip.

San Diego would host vs. SF.  The Braves would host the loser.

It's not a coin flip.  It's like EdStroud said.

Flip for hosting. DPM where do you see that? I don't doubt you, just curious.

I think home field would be determined by season series and I believe San Diego won the season series.

Man on 1st with 1 out becomes RISP with 1 out.  That is a flat-out worse situation.  Take a look at the run probabilities.  If it were really as clear-cut as you make it sound, Burnett would IBB whenever there was a runner on first, but he doesn't.  It's all about who Wright is, and he is not enough of a threat to make it worth IBBing him.  Besides that, Burnett is not just a GB guy, this season he is also a strikeout guy.  By IBBing someone you completely eliminate the potential for the K, which is obviously the best outcome.
It's a good decision because Wright is a 1.062 OPS hitter vs. Lefties. He has always crushed them in his career.

I doubt this lineup we have now could score in a full 9-innings.

I'm absolutely shocked this guy acts like this. Only reporter I've ever seen who has favorite players he covers and verbally attacks fans. Unreal.

If Storen gets hurt pitching 2 1/3, you have to fire Riggleman out of a cannon as well as firing him.

I'd like to see that either way
