Also, Rizzo only identified a front of the rotation starter as a need for the Nats going into the offseason.

Didn't say a thing about an OF'er or the 1B position.

eh i think he said it was the biggest need.

but who out there can really wow you other than cliff lee?  i guess you can make a trade, but still.  look @ the offensive stat cats ... nats aren't great in any of them.  you need a balance.

Not quite true.  He said the biggest need is the SP.  Interesting that he says that when Kasten was saying that Strasburg going down didn't change the team needs/plan.

Ben keeps thinking Pena is coming to the Nats.

I'd be so depressed if we go that route.

hey let's get defensive at each position!

1B Pena
2B Orr
SS Gonzalez
3B Zimmerman
C Nieves
LF Bernadina
CF Morgan
RF Maxwell

yeah that's awesome!

Has there been a game since Dunn arrived when neither he nor Zimm played?

The final game of last season.  That's all.

Agreed on the first point.

As for the second, they've said all along when Strasburg went down, it won't change this offseason's spending plan.  But the recent news about Kasten has me :nervous:

I posted in the new president thread, but if it's Pfeffer controlling the business side, and they give Rizzo $85MM to make a team, and let him do as he wants, I'd be happy with that.

tough luck error, imo, really.  he's had way more awful routine plays that he botched.  still too many E's.

Ross Detwiler is a stud. Too bad no one in the organization sees it.

Does Ray Knight realize he's live on the air?

How dare he complain about how bad the pitching development has been.

I'm sure he'll be shown the door soon enough!

As everyday passes by, Riggleman looks more like a moron for not playing Morse everyday. If he stuck with Morse everyday in June, maybe the team could truly identify if he is a starter for the future.
