It has something similar. For seasonal events, wow sometimes has bosses people can queue up for that are located in some instances. These bosses drop a variety of things, however, its hard to get the "epic" stuff. Like, for halloween there is a boss named the "headless horseman". He is a boss that people queue up for. He has a chance to drop a companion, a raid worthy helm for each class, or even the headless horsemans mount (a fiery horse than can walk in the air). The later stuff is a lower chance to drop so he usually just drops candy and stuff.

I don't know if thats what you are referring to but this is pretty much it.

I promoted Wilnieves to the leader of MINDFACT as I left. At least the name will stay!

What level is Livo
Same as his namesake's age.... 48 :P

You should check out Forsaken World, it's a free MMORPG, pretty well done, just leveled a mage up to level 18 on it tonight.

Colodar, what you are talking about is like something in Warhammer Age of Reckoning I think.  Areas have quests where anyone in the area can participate, and then at the end a chest drops.  You roll based on your contribution to the event, and it doles out loot, though it's not epic as far as I can tell, the free to play version only let's you level up to rank 10, so it may be different later.

WoW has a LFD tool that's nice.  You queue up and choose your role, Tank, Healer, or Damage, and it assembles a group, instead of looking for a group in chat.  It teleports you to and from the instance from wherever you are.

No loot in WoW is really game breaking, 99% of epics are for level cap anyway.  There are lower level epics that drop, but they get replaced fast.  Even level 80 epic gear from the last xpac is way inferior to the first quest uncommon and rare quest rewards you get in the new areas on your way to 85.  Almost all gear has a level requirement, so it's not like you could get an item level 359 epic and equip it on a level 20 toon or anything.  Outside of the few lower level items, all current epics require 85.

They do have a point system, Justice points for 5 man instances and Valor points for 10 and 25 man raids.  Current tier epics can be bought for Valor points, and gear from one previous tier can be bought for Justice points.  Current JP gear isn't even epic since it's the first tier.  When 4.1 content drops, the current tier will be available for JP, and the new stuff will be Valor.  That way, you don't have to do every raid if you make a new character, you can grind JP and get previous tier gear and be ready for the current tier content, which is nice.

You should try it out, I'd do refer a friend with you if you wanted for the triple xp bonus, there is a free trial ;)

The older april fools jokes were pretty awesome because they were unexpected. For example: The murloc race, the wisp race, and the first patch notes were amazing.

The wings of chaos joke today was pretty good too. I also like the "crabby" lol.

Yeah, but he's annoying as hell.  Once you go to the info page, now he pops up on EVERY OTHER PAGE ON THE SITE, and you can't get rid of him.  He went away for a while, and then people QQ's in the General forum, now he's back.

He "Rick Roll'd" me to a Rebecca Black video FFS!!!!

Awesome.

I hope he both waved his hands in the air when he "taunted" and made a loud "death noise" when he feigned death.

Released 4.2 patch info regarding the new raid, the new daily, the new legendary item and the new quest chain about thrall.

I'm sort of a lore geek for wow. Its probably because WC3 and WC3:TFT where pretty damn awesome. I think the Thrall quest chain is the first step towards him becoming the next aspect taking Deathwings place.

I only play MMOs to play with people I know really, and since I don't know anyone on my server now, I just don't get into playing it as much.  Plus, I'm at level cap and waiting on new content.

So, I'm a little dense about this, but my son plays WoW. It's time for us to get a new computer. He prefers that we get a laptop. Can anyone suggest a laptop - or what I should look for - so that he can play WoW and get good graphics performance?

Look for a discrete card, not an integrated one.  Anything that says "Intel HD Graphics" is integrated and no good.

Right. I'd learned enough to look for a graphics card with dedicated memory. I understand that in WoW there are different levels of graphics and frame rates or something like that.

At this point, I'm thinking a mid-range Dell XPS with Core i7 processor, a 1920x1080 monitor, and NVIDIA GeoForce 540 graphics card with a gig of memory. That's about what I can afford, I think.

I wish there was a WoW place I could go for recommendations. The boy isn't really a gamer, so I don't want to over-buy, but he does like WoW.
