Check out Gonzalez' stats on his wiki page. It says BA .305 through June 22, 1997. He was 14 in 1997. Right under where it says he debuted September1, 2007. He must've been hitting .305 in some Babe Ruth league in Venezuela.

Nothing serious as running past the ball earlier but he was running back and couldn't get to the ball quick enough. I think he stutter stepped. ( I don't know, I didn't see until the end)
