"I started having a crazy idea in the fourth inning that Richard Nixon was the home plate umpire, and once I thought I was pitching a baseball to Jimi Hendrix, who to me was holding a guitar and swinging it over the plate."

I love this quote.

Fun off topic fact:

Germany had the approval by Adolf Hitler during WWII to create a "super tank" It was called the Ratte.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Landkreuzer_P._1000_Ratte

Imagine what that thing would look like. It'd be like a house on wheels.

Hardly an owning. Bad players go 4-4 all the time. If Wil Nieves went 4-4 tomorrow, everybody would laugh at SF for telling people to eat crow. Even with his 4-4 night, he has an OPS under .690.

Guess what?

Shut up.

Type baseball next to it.

i know, but i think it's lame that i spell his name right, and it redirects me to the guy with a different spelling - i could understand if they had the same name, but they don't.

Check out Gonzalez' stats on his wiki page. It says BA .305 through June 22, 1997. He was 14 in 1997. Right under where it says he debuted September1, 2007. He must've been hitting .305 in some Babe Ruth league in Venezuela.

i remember from my little league days, as an outfielder, you always take your first step back because it's easier to forward than backwards.

They should position Morgan at the warning track at every pitch... that way he doesn't have to go back on the ball.

What happened?

Nothing serious as running past the ball earlier but he was running back and couldn't get to the ball quick enough. I think he stutter stepped. ( I don't know, I didn't see until the end)

It was a hard hit ball. Stammen pitched amazing in his first return back, and it came against one of the best teams in the NL.
