This game is on the hitters making floyd look like Cy Young.
Maybe a little around the ears?

Rule 6.08c

"APPROVED RULING: When the batter is touched by a pitched ball which does not entitle him to first base, the ball is dead and no runner may advance."

Thanks PA

6.05f is cases where the batter is out. Same with that case from 6.08c. I think he actually is out.

I want to hear Jim Riggleman say that, barring injury, Nyjer Morgan and Cristian Guzman won't be starting.

Rule 6.05(f) "He attempts to hit a third strike and the ball touches him"

To make the rule complete

6.05 A batter is out when:
6.05(f) "He attempts to hit a third strike and the ball touches him"

Has any pitcher this season had his worst game against us?

Ubaldo Jimenez? Only the good pitchers pitch bad vs. us like Lincecum and Santana

Uh oh:

6.08
The batter becomes a runner and is entitled to first base without liability to be put out (provided he advances to and touches first base) when --
(d) A fair ball touches an umpire or a runner on fair territory before touching a fielder.
If a fair ball touches an umpire after having passed a fielder other than the pitcher, or having touched a fielder, including the pitcher, the ball is in play.

You forgot the part where "6.05 A batter is out when", but yeah, that's the rule.  So it was correctly interpreted, the ump got the call right.

I take back my "smack" against the umps.

Keep reading. I don't know if it's 6.08c or 6.08d that applies. But those fools should have looked in the rulebook.

Mike Morse, not Willie Harris better come out to bat. Barring Morse hitting a walk off, no chance he starts tomorrow.

Lincecum had a terrible start after ours.  Santana got abused by the Phillies.  Jimenez worst game was two starts ago, in the rain.

Roy Oswalt comes close but he got thrown out after a few innings.

No, you had the right rule, 6.05, but you failed to quote the main part of it "the batter is out when...."

6.08 is not relevant.

Maybe Kyle Kendrick?

Kyle Kendrick has gotten abused several times.  I'm actually going to research this and post it. I'd actually like to know the answer.

I just remembered he got mashed around pretty good.  Something like 6 runs in 1+ innings.
