Stammen isn't producing any consistency from start to start.  Despite Riggs obvious dislike of Atilano, Stammen has to be the one replaced by Strasburg.  I like the kid, but it may be time to Balester him and have him start coming out of the pen at either Harrisburg or Syracuse.
I think Stammen would be a horrible reliever. He struggles in the beginning part of his starts, so I see no reason he wouldn't do the same coming into the game in the late innings.

It's likely his inability to get into a quality routine on a 5 day schedule.  If he doesn't know when it's coming it may help him to be ready more often.  There's no reason not to try it.

I guess you're right, but this team is not lacking in pitching. For the first time in years, I can safely say that I'm not worried about lack of pitching depth in the system. Corner outfielders, that's another story.

Stammen to the pen, OK then who goes down?

Batista is better than Stammen, the only potential guy could be Tyler Walker

Walker is better than Stammen. Stammen is starting because he is good hitter. Can he play RF?

Didn't someone make a comment that they could Ankiel him? It can't be worse than Bernadina ducking away from a ball right down the middle.

Stammen goes down and starts working out of the pen there to get used to it.  If he excels in that role then he finds his way up to the big club again when needed.

Stammen always bounces back after a rough 1st inning. I bet he holds them scoreless for the next 4. Unfortunately, he can't give up 3 runs every game before he starts to settle down
