Nationals 0
Phillies 8

Bottom of the 2nd inning!  The umpire mercifully EJECTS Ortiz for hitting Burrell.  The umpire realizes that Frank is a MORON, and is quietly suggesting he forfeit.

NYJ QB Chad Pennington's dad went into the hospital, so former Redskins QB Patrick Ramsey should get a lot of play for the Jets vs the Washington Redskins, which is on DC area TV at 8 PM tonight.

Jeez, a bad outing for Ortiz, he just didnt have his stuff.  Does everyone forget he's our ace?

Sure, but our 2006 ace is Ramon.

He hit Rowand to get ejected.

Okay, could someone clarify for me that this IS NOT a Redskins board, but a Nationals board.  The word "Redskins" belongs in Off-topic.

Probably not.  The radio guys say Ortiz had zero control.  The ump can see Ortiz face and eyes and may have thought he was mad (at himself).  The ump did us a favor, though.  Frank had nobody even warming up when it was 5-0.   It might be 16-0 if the ump left it up to Frank.

he is.

he's just not available due to injury and poor medical diagnosis.

doesn't change the fact that he's our best pitcher.

Games where the Nationals are losing 8-0 after the SECOND inning ALSO belong in Off-Topic, since that is not Major League Baseball.  For DC area fans, a pre-season NFL game provides relief for this.  I have the Redskin game on TV now.  This may be our last chance to see Ramsey play in the NFL for a long time.  I cannot see the Nationals game on TV at all, thanks to Emperor Angelos.

I understand that.  However, this is the Washington Nationals Fan Forum, not the Washington Redskins Fan Forum.  OT.

You are correct - I'm joking around about the way Frank let this game slip away.  If it were in Washington, the fans probably would have been booing Ortiz and applauding the ump when he ejected him.  This park makes a comeback possible, but Frank tends to give upin these situations.
The Vermont Lake MONSTERS are playing now and you can hear the radio broadcast on-line...Might be a better game. Bergmann played for them in 2002.

Ugh I hate games like this because when I come back to the forum later tonight all I'm going to see is a billion threads on why Ortiz sucks and why we should trade him  :|

well...Ortiz really isn't all that great.  he's a 4th/5th starter at best.

you say that as if Ortiz is Oswalt or something.

C'mon 2k6, just joking around.  We're down 8-0 and it's only the 4th inning.  I still love the Nats obviously, but it has to piss you off when they have performances like this.

I don't know really anything about them.  It's just a cool name for a team, and they created that logo with a MONSTER and a bat in his mouth, plus a MONSTER mascot.  I'm going to order some of their merchandise.  (Look at that visor.)  We ought to name our other teams the Werewolves and the Vampires.

ANOTHER Soriano homer, #40 for the year. Lousy Frank lineup means only 1 RBI.  If we win this game, it would be the ultimate humiliation of the Phillies.  They would implode!

I wasnt referring to that, rather the numerous Redskins posts out of OT.
