  • 2016 - the year that everything changed, again.
so, the more I think about this, it's probably not realistic that I'll be able to make it.  One of these days, I'll get out to DC.

:(

...and we'll have another party just to celebrate that!

Alright well unless anyone has objections, I'm ready to officially declare Sept 24th-26th WNFF get-together weekend, with the WNFF baseball game on the 25th.  We'll just have to hope enough people can come to make it worthwhile.  This is never going to go anywhere if we don't nail down a date and start planning the other stuff.

Tried to throw again today, but the team shut me down.  Going to extended spring training to try to get my mojo back.     :'(

I can see the writing on the wall.  My son went out about 15' and turned to recieve my first throw, with a smirk on his face, which said "I know this is about your limit, dad".     :?

No guts - no glory. Procastinator  -you are being. Get your suitcase out, and plan on coming. You can be the scorekeeper, if you can't play........... :icon_mrgreen:

Idea - invite Ben Gossling to the event.  There is always the ballpark fields around the P-Nats stadium that could be used. Don't know who you would sign up with, for the use of one of those, but I'm sure that could be done. Also, there are ballfields in DC that could be used. Anybody got a backyard they would like to host a outdoor grill get together.
Just throwing some ideas out there to get this thing going. Anybody good at organizing events or parties or get-togethers - this would be a perfect time to volunteer or help the Chief.

Assuming I don't have a scouting event or other obligation, I'm in, just don't laugh if I have to throw underhand (because my shoulder won't allow overhand throws).   :-[

Well the dates are solid:

so I guess I should start making a list of those who said they would (or might) attend.  Location is tenatively set for Fredericksburg, VA.  That should be fairly central to a lot of attendees, and they have a number of good parks.  I suppose the thing to do would be start checking places up there to see if they have a field available for use/rent on 9/25.

Very open to ideas if anyone has some.  I'd prefer not to have to plan this whole thing alone if possible, but I'll do what's necessary to get the most # of people to show.

Minty Fresh:  IN.

Incidentally, you may wish to check Povich Field in MoCo because you can rent it for a nominal fee.

Minty would be coming from Syracuse, NY.  Nat of the Living Dead used to live in NC somewhere, but I believe he recently located to Northern VA.  A few of us are from the Richmond area.

Fixed.  AZ was from Syracuse.  I'd like a little separation there.....

I'll be staying in Laurel, MD but will happily make the drive to Fredericksburg if need be.
