What does taking out Walker and putting in Slaten have anything to do with Capps and Clippard? Slaten pitched last night. Now Bruney is warming. Charming.
Hence why I said he's not managing for tonight solely. He is trying to build up guys in the pen for the long haul. The season isn't even a quarter completed yet. Storen is coming, but we need other guys to step up.

Great turn by Desmond. Thats huge. Still, it seems like every pitcher is pitching every game.

It might have been just me but I could have sworn Charlie & Dave said Clippard was warming up.

Hard to believe they got out of that inning w/out giving up a run. Hey, these Nats can field!

This team continues to bend, but they just won't break. It's simply incredible watching as an avid baseball fan

Please don't use Clippard or Capps.

Still have Bruney, Batista and Burnett sitting around.

Met announcers mentioned Clippard & Capps. Suggested Clippard could be brought in. I didn't see a shot of the bullpen.

Good getting out of that by Slaten. I complete agree with that, I actually think Clip needs a few days off he hasn't looked as sharp lately. My concern with using so many pitchers is that you take pitchers out when they are pitching well due to matchup reasons, and then you deplete the number of pitchers you have later in the game. So say bruney comes in for the 8th inning to give Clippard a break, but struggles, you are forced with bringing Clippard in anyway because there are now no other options to get out of the mess, so Clippard ends up pitching anyway since anyone else decent has already pitched and been taken out. I've seen it happen a few times

Olsen got any quality start escalators in his contract by chance?

It's something like 90k per game started.

We have a quick turnaround for tomorrow's game so it might be wise to have them available fresh for that game.

Both of those called strikes were clear balls according to gameday.

I trust Tyler Walker.  Am I the only one?

He had a horrid spring, slow start to the regular season, but has been slowly rounding into form.  He seems pretty solid now.  I certainly trust him more than Bruney, who remains unpredictably wild.
