They loved it. Went with the Strasburgs! Nobody knew who they were. Kind of nice!
I'd love to be a fly on that wall. No one knew who Stephen was? Those days won't last much longer.

No one mistook Bally for Joshua Chamberlain with that mustache?  Obviously there weren't very many civil war historians on their boat.

Actually, it's funny. I have pretty much completely forgotten about it - didn't know I had asked Drew - but then every time Spinman and I are in the same thread, somebody always mentions that darned squid. So I just started telling Spinman squid jokes any time we converse, like here, because otherwise somebody will say, "you didn't mention the squid"

Balester is looking like a world beater in AAA in his last two outings. 4-2/3 innings 0, runs, 0 hits, 2 k's and 14 guys out in a row.

They are gonna have to find a place for him at some point. Maybe not till September, but it will nice to seem him when he does.

Keep Balester down in AAA to beat the sense out of more batters. Then bring him up in July or August to replace Batista or Walker / any other struggling guys. It'd be nice to see him become a solid reliever.

That seems like the right plan for him. He dominated AAA as a starter in 2008 . Now lets see him dominate as a reliever in 2010.
If he stays a hot pitcher they will find a place for him in the bigs.  8)

Balester's last 4 outings were 9.0 innings, 3 hits , 2 runs, 3 BB's 4 K's,
ERA at 2.00 with mostly ground ball outs. They have been swinging early in the count. He's been throwing lots of strikes.

Stammen and JD are Major League Pitchers already and they are grooming Balester into one in the near future.

Aside from that blow up on the 7th, Balester is looking like a pretty good reliever so far.

Every reliever is going to have a bad day. If Colin has a short memory, then he's good to go.

Last 4 games.  8-1/3 innings, 1 hit , 2 BB, 4 K's and 0 runs.
Hes really starting to settle down. Good for him. Another 4-5 solid games and he should be ready to go after the ASB.

Will he replace Slaten or Walker? I think they want to hang on to Batista

No I agree. I'm just amazed that hes really only had one of those so he seems to be adjusting pretty good so far.
