Is it bad that I recognize 2/3 of the Chiefs lineup?

Shouldn't you be able to?  It means they're on the cusp of the majors.

Chase Lambin is the only hitter who caught my eye tonight on the Chiefs. Our system has some stars, but really is short on quality depth, especially batters.

I just watched the first 4 innings, nasty nasty stuff.  He completely handcuffed the Braves hitters who just looked lost up there, but who can blame them?  When he's throwing high 90's and you guess fastball he throws a near perfect 88 Mph breaking ball that leaves you standing there looking dumbfounded.  His off-speed stuff was working well too.

I can't wait to see him in Washington.

Don't trust the gun, it said the other scrub hit 102. I just watched a bit but there were some silly-ass Strasburg pitches that started up and in and ended up down and away that me yelling out loud.

Wow, that payoff pitch to get the final out in the top of the sixth with a strikeout - FILTHY/RIDICULOUS. :worship: Strasburg is truly the savior.

He was quite impressive tonight.

I was also impressed with his poise and very fluid motion. From hearing him speak he is very mature.
Lots to like about him. Barring injury he will have a very nice career.

Haha.  I was watching the taped replay and started seeing all these guys that I can recognize without seeing a name or number.  A buddy watching with me was amazed that I knew the names of all these "young" players in our system.  I laughed and thought..."where do I start..."

I said it once and I'll say it again: it is ri-f'n'-diculous this guy is still boring himself in the minors.

Did you see the all-time list of pitchers they showed during the game last night who skipped the minors and jumped right to the majors?
Only a couple of mediocre careers and the rest were flops. None came close to the Hall.

They discussed this and many insiders are divided with some saying that they are rushing him and it may be a good idea to keep him down a little longer so he can better prepare himself for the majors, i.e., work on another pitch.

Yes, this is Strasburg and he is a special talent but history states he needs some minor league seasoning.

I want him up here too but for the betterment of Strasburg and the Nationals it's not going to hurt to see him at least finish the season in Syracuse.

I couldn't care less about his arbitration clock, but I want what's best for his conditioning.  If he has to stay down in the minors until July just to get his arm ready for pitching in the majors, so be it.

You know who needs "seasoning" in the minors? The Craig Stammens, John Lannans and Luis Atilanos of the world. Tell me with a straight face that those options are better than Strasburg at this point.

I'm well aware that I am outspoken on this point, but nothing that this kid has (hasn't) done that convinces me otherwise. Show me all the lists of past players you want, but there is a major flaw in that logic: none of those players on any list is named Stephen Strasburg.

Development, "everydayness", arb clocks-- it is all a bunch of bull. The kid is ready, has been since the day he signed. Nothing can stop what has been done and I'm sure they have marked on some calendar in the FO the day he is going to pitch (wish I was a fly on the wall in that office) and they aren't going to stray from their "perfect plan" for him. But a few years down the road, when Stras is collecting the first of his many Cy Youngs to come we are all going to look back on this and say, "WTF were we thinking? He is God, we are mere mortals. FORGIVE US FOR OUR UNBELIEF!"

I'm going to heaven with Johnny Cash.

The best thing long term for the Nats is to have Strasburg and Storen in AA till June.  This team can be solid next year, but what about in year 3, 4, 5, 6....thats gonna be when you want Strasburg under your control for an extra year.

So this is what it would have been like to be in the conference room when they decided on Mark Prior's first season plan.
