Got home late, saw the score, then read the line score and MLB gameday. Olsen pitches well, it seems, and great to win in the 9th. Two games above .500. Not bad at all!

I hope it's not clubhouse strain. It's customary for the players to stay away from the pitcher in the dugout when they're throwing a no-hitter, so I thought that could have been what he meant, but it's odd that he said "not the first time."

i think it's him saying it's not the first time he was close to a no-hitter and it won't be the last.

everyone in pre-game/post-game interviews have spoken glowingly of olsen this year.

Yeah, thats what I assumed but what you pointed out got me worried.

I don't remember what team this year but a rookie hit a 2 run homer, his first homer of the year, and he got to the dugout and everyone ignored him for an inning. Then the next inning they jumped on him like they finally celebrated it. I understand thats a "freaking around" tactic but "not the first time" kind of gave me a weird vibe.

Yeah, they showed some shots of him sitting alone between innings as the game progressed, Nobody talks to a pitcher in the middle of a no hitter. He was just joking about being ignored other times.
