Yeah, I was originally a proponent of moving Stammen to the 'pen because he seemed to get noticeably worse the second or third time through the line-up last year.  He really seems to have fixed that this year.

He still has the problem of giving up too many gopher balls, and that is not what you want in a reliever.  Lannan has a knack for inducing DP's, pitches well with runners on, and doesn't give up quite as many homers.  That makes him the more valuable commodity out of the 'pen.

It's also nice to have another LHP in the pen.  I could see a real logjam at that role though as English and Slaten likely will deserve a look.
