Congrats Nats/WNFF.  You beat the crap out of us.  Nice to see Zimmerman back, but his timing kinda sucks.

Batista has to go before Bruney!

No way.  With the exception of 08 Batista has been better than Bruney every year.  Bruney goes first.

Even now Bruney has more walks in 5 fewer innings and a WHIP over freaking 2.

Nats won their 13th game on May 21st last season - Game #41
That puts them 18 games ahead of last season's pace

always liked him ... and he has always liked the nats.  last year he would say when we would go on one of our patented 4-7 game losing streaks: "watch out for this team soon"

The best part was that no one challenged him on it.  Plesac was right on board with him.  They said we'll need some more starting pitching, which I agree with as do most of us, I believe.

Bruney goes when they bring up Storen.  Batista goes when Strasburg comes up and Stammen moves to the pen.  All of this could happen on essentially the same day.  I'm ok with Walker for now.

we're almost 25 games into the season and you can tell everyone has gotten the message (for the most part):

play better defense, don't nibble and put up some good at bats ... there is help on the way, so for you bench/fringe guys who want to be here when we're a winner ... you better show up and take advantage of the opportunity.

while our rightfield position is a scary situation (although the defense has been amazing) and we need flores back over nieves, our offense and defense doesn't worry me.  bullpen has some question marks/eyesores, but let's face it storen/english will be here soon and one or two of the starters will be moving to the pen.

our starting pitching has been an unbelievable bright spot.  at the beginning of spring training, only lannan was assured of a rotation spot.  with strasburg/wang/detwiler/zimmermann all slated to come back at some point this year ... livan/atilano/olsen/stammen know the spots won't be there for long, so they better make the most of the opportunity.  with the way they have been pitching, they are making the decisions tough for our front office.

Like the plan there except I'd move Lannan to the pen and keep Stammen in the rotation if things stay close to how they are now.

This was the "Players News" at espn.com for Scott Olsen before tonight's game:

Quote
The Nationals have flipped Olsen and Craig Stammen in the rotation, giving Olsen the start on Friday, the Washington Post reports.
Spin: Olsen will be pitching on his normal rest as a result but will be facing Ricky Nolasco instead of Chris Volstad, which doesn't increase his chances of coming away with the win.

The MLB network is so much better than ESPN BBTN. Much better across the board coverage of all the teams. Harold Reynolds has been pretty high on the Nats as well. He was talking last week about how much fun they are to watch and how they grind to the last out. Meanwhile on BBTN the other day, the flat out didn't even cover our game.

Couldn't have said it any better myself.  Baseball Tonight brings nothing to the table.  They are a Red Sox, Phillies and New York suckfest.

MLBNT will break down game tape and then let their analysts dissect a certain play/trend/etc.  It's glorious.

MLB.TV just named Zimmerman as the Lexus game changer of the night, afterwards the panel talked about how good he is, and how good the Nationals are.

pinch me.

The other night, the analyst on ESPN was actually saying how he was "disappointed" in the Red Sox. I mean, WTF?
