Someone on the board was talking about Dr. Doogie from experience, no?

Well, you could hear somebody in the background of the press conference informing Riggleman and the press that apparently they saw enough in Marquis exam that they wanted a second opinion from Kremchek.  Not a good development.  Might well explain the suckitude.

As I said in the game thread...

Riggleman said that Marquis came to them 10 days ago and said he was sore... but it wasn't something that was going to make him stop pitching.

I think that's a red flag right there. When a player tells you they are sore, they're probably hurt pretty good.

This training staff is a joke. When a player tells you he's sore... you don't let him go out there for two more starts to get absolutely lit up.

Unbelievable.

And what does Marquis' elbow condition have to do with tonight's game?

We were talking about the press conference where they announced Marquis was going on the DL?

Well, I started a new thread because it was a new topic, that's the purpose of having different threads.

Please have the guts to come here and explain to us, the most die-hard of die-hard Nats fans, what the HELL is going on with this team's medical/training staff?

Enough is enough!

You guys are a complete failure, and I'd tell you that to your faces. >:(

If it's TJ surgery then that's $15 million COMPLETELY down the drain.   Should have been $15 million over THREE years. :?

To the dl for "floating bodies"
What exactly is that? It sounds funny to me

Rotoworld said it's not good.

Quote
An MRI Wednesday revealed "floating bodies" in Jason Marquis' right elbow, according to Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo.

Never a good thing. Marquis will be placed on the 15-disabled list either Wednesday or Thursday and will get a second opinion on the elbow later this week. He's 0-3 with a 20.52 ERA in his first three starts in a Nationals uniform. There's a good chance he could be out for a while.

What does this mean? Injuries happen. The only "pop" injury seems to be Ryan Zimmerman. Pulled muscles happen, and, luckily for the Nats, they have a lot of infielders.

Otherwise:

- Olsen was at risk to begin with. This seems to be his trial: if he pitches, great. If not, he's another Patterson. The team moves on.

- Wang is another Olsen...just building strength to get that trial.

- Marquis and the elbow? Again, that's what happens to pitchers. They clean out the elbow and see. However, the kid, Atilano, has to be an improvement over what Marquis has been.

You're joking, right?

He said something about pain ten days ago.

Then he goes out and has another decidedly unlike-Marquis-in-April start.

They still.do.nothing. :bang:

I seriously doubt it's Tommy John. He'd go straight to Dr. Andrews if that was the case.
Floating bodies sounds like bone chips.

Floating bodies sounds like Stammen, who seems to have bounced back.

Interesting what I saw when I did a google search. This is from 2002.

Quote
Rockies' Neagle has floating bodies in elbow
DENVER -- Rockies left-hander Denny Neagle shows a potential problem with his pitching elbow, but is expected to start as scheduled on Saturday.

Neagle (8-10) departed Sunday's game in the third inning when he experienced tightness in his elbow but no real pain.

Colorado manager Clint Hurdle said the condition is not uncommon for pitchers.

"If you took any of those pitchers out there, an MRI might show some of those floating bodies," Hurdle said. "It all depends on how much he is able to tolerate."

Neagle, who has a 2.95 ERA since returning to the rotation Aug. 3 after a stint in the bullpen, said his arm felt better Tuesday than it did two days earlier.

He'd still be done for the year if that was the case.

From what I'm seeing we are looking at 6 weeks on average. It's a pretty straight forward arthroscopic procedure.
