so that mr. rizzo had a pretty darn good offseason of acquisitions:
livan hernandez - brings in the veteran to compete for #5 spot ... what does he do in his first outing? 7 innings of shutout ball and shows the rest of the team how it's done.
jason marquis - weak first start, but so far so good ... he's a competitor and a winner ... has always been to the playoffs and will have a good effect on john lannan (another new yorker) and the other pups.
pudge rodriguez - his bat and defense are the best we've seen from a nats catcher in our short history of existence.
brian bruney - made one mistake yesterday, but has looked pretty good.
matt capps - hey call him chief v.2, but he has three saves and attacks hitters.
adam kennedy - plays some solid defense and usually works counts to give us some good ABs. blue collard kinda infielder.
