Would I lie - also with few exceptions (like KDKA in Pittsburgh) W call letters are east of the Mississippi and K is west (I'm a radio nerd).

Rangers To Sign Mike Hinckley
from MLB Trade Rumors by Drew Silva

According to T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com, the Rangers are close to inking left-hander Mike Hinckley to a minor league contract.
The 26-year-old opted for free agency after he was designated for assignment by the Nationals last week. He had a 1.93 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in two seasons with Washington, but displayed major control problems out of the gate this year. The Rangers will add him to their Triple-A Oklahoma City roster.

Last year I thought he was completely misused. A huge mistake to drum him out of the organization. I wonder what the thinking was. He had been successful in 2007.

• Jerry Manuel calling Ryan Church "the guy" was reminiscent of John McCain calling Barack Obama "that guy." Both men denied there's a rift after Manuel was so angered by Church missing third base in the Mets' heartbreaking 3-2 defeat Monday in L.A. But I'd have to say, I don't believe Manuel's in love.

Well if you believe the Mets fanbase, there's been a racial divide in that clubhouse for years. Given Church's reputation for being a tad on the naive side, I can't imagine he fits in very well.

3 Starts: 14.2 IP 18 H 15 R 15 ER 2 HR 10 BB 10 K (0-2, 9.20 ERA, 1.91 WHIP).

and they are paying him $2,250,000

Look at his 1st inning numbers. The Nats would have done well to let him compete with Joel for the closers job.

That means they have lost 35% of their games since they traded Church. Perhaps that's the reason. Or maybe it's that Milledge is a cancer.

Perhaps it is all the above, along with the fact that the organization did a piss poor job of acquiring talent, and the manager has no idea how to manage a bullpen, hold players accountable, or put people in positions to succeed.

Damn that Brian Schneider for causing all that trouble. And he's a racist to boot.
