I'm not saying he's going to get the nicest guy award, but he's a helluva baseball player.

Nook Logan, kids in the DSL, Schoenenweiss - I get why they used juice. They are barely scraping by. Barry Bonds, ARod, they are scum. They are the best of the best, and they got greedy and used drugs. Both were no-doubt 1st ballot HOF'ers. It's sickening.

Plus, Dunn doesn't dip.

He totally should get a gum endorsement!

Yup, he is a class act. I don't want him to have a 4 year deal because I care about the long term success of the club. I don't care about the money of rich people, sorry. The players are rich and the owners are rich, and that won't change.

Who's to say signing Dunn for a four year contract will harm the long term success of the club?

Instead he's a joke, cheats on his wife, pouts, and is basically scum. I'd like to see him out of baseball forever.

Oh, I didn't know they have these stats on the back of baseball cards.

Wait till you have a kid-  are you gonna tell him to root for Pujols or ARod? Dunn or Ortiz? Manny or Berkman? Nyjer or Tony Plush  ? Character matters.

I don't care who they root for. Its baseball. Steroids are bad and it sucks he used them. Baseball is meant for our entertainment. So if he enjoys a guy who cheated than that's fine by me. Currently he's still kicking ass as a baseball player, not a cheater. He can like who he wants to like. If he likes AROID, cool. It's not like watching him play baseball automatically makes you cheat and pout. If that was true than the whole NY fanbase would be scum, not to mention the Mariners and Rangers fan base too.

I'm rooting for Mark Cuban's group to win the battle to buy the Rangers.  Going up against Nolan Ryan though is gonna be tough.

I wanted Cuban to take over the Pirates.

They deserve a good team and he'd pump money into them until they won.

Baseball owner group is too stuck up to ever accept Cuban into their club.

If Cuban's group forks over the most cash and the creditors won't budge this could get interesting

Phils pick up Mike Sweeney.  As a side note, when I worked at Rosenblatt Stadium, he came through Omaha on a rehab stint and in one of those games, he hit the ball harder than anyone I've ever seen in person.  Ball left the yard in about 1.5 seconds on a line about 3 feet above the fence.  Hit the metal bleachers with a deafaning crash.  Unfortunately, he could never stay healthy and his swing was scarily similar to Kearns'.  One of the nicest guys you'll ever meet though.  Bought the whole groundscrew lunch.

This is a dilemma:  Steve Forbes is an idiot but I agree with his magazine, therefore am I an idiot?

Wait, people want to go see a team that wins? I would say that the pirates have the best fans- that they can get anyone to go at this point is a sign of devotion. We're not that far behind.

Isn't Saltalamacchia still a very solid catcher? Did the Red Sox just pull off a superb trade?

Regardless, his name looks awesome across the back of a jersey.

My point is that there are plenty of players who are believed to be model guys (and get praised as such) that do the same crap. Just because they haven't been caught doing it doesn't make them model guys.

SF said it when we were thinking about signing Dunn.

I want to see Ryan get the Rangers, but at the same time, I do want Cuban to own an MLB team, only because he could be the "new" George Steinbrenner - disclaimer: Not saying he'll pull the crap that George did! Just saying, he'll be a public MLB owner. If I asked my friend who owned the Royals, they wouldn't know it was David Glass... but if Cuban gets fined 100K for calling an ump full of bullcrap, people will know it.

Don't get me wrong, being a juicer makes you crap in my book. I just don't give a crap if a player is cheating on his wife.
