The Diamondbacks bullpen is godawful.  Worse than the Nationals, last year!

What is it with the NL West and overrated GM's?  Kevin Towers for a long time, Ned Coletti, Brian Sabean, and Josh Byrnes.  These guys get lucky once in a while, but by and large they aren't particularly good.

No wonder that division has been a general morass of mediocrity.  It's no coincidence that the Rockies are the only National League champion out of that division since 2001.  I know they've had a lot of failures, but Dan O'Dowd is probably the best of the bunch, ironically.

Things that really annoy me:

When Johnny Damon says "eckspecially" instead of "especially".

I think it's time I go to bed...

I prefer having a good right fielder. None of this only good offense or only good defense guy. Lets get a guy whos all around.

Owners? Yeah, easily the Os are crappy. Fans? It might be me but I know more douche bag red sox fans than I do Os... Then again I know some douche O fans too.

From my observation, the only fan base worst than the Cubs is the Red Sox.  I don't know many O's fans at all, and have never been to Baltimore, so I can;t say.

Speaking of Cubs fans, I find it ironic that only a few days after proclaiming Starlin Castro as the messiah for getting 6 RBIs in his first MLB game, they are ready to run him out of town on a rail for making a couple of throwing errors and pouting about it last night.

freak

I don't think I've ever hated a team as much as I hate the Philthies right now >:(

okay, wait, Dallas Cowboys after opening day 1999 :? But aside from that...

  I didn't hate them any more than I already do. I was just as pissed off at the Skins after that meltdown. That was the closest I've ever come to actually crying after a loss.   :-[

Mike Nolan was such a stupid jerk.

From my observation, the only fan base worst than the Cubs is the Red Sox.  I don't know many O's fans at all, and have never been to Baltimore, so I can;t say.

Obviously not.  I'll never forgive those arrogant pricks for how they acted when the Nats were at their worst.  They have every bit of the sense of entitlement that Cubs fans have.

Soxfan, don't go to Baltimore. It's the crowning achievement in city planning if you are looking to make square miles of porto john.

It's like the Mariners and maybe the Red Sox went too far in their run prevention strategy. They went so far defense they can't score any runs.
Red Sox are second or third in HR in MLB right now.  They are 5th in runs.

The "run prevention" strategy has not worked because the starting pitching and defense have collapsed, not because the offense is inadequate.  Beltre has been horrid defensively and has had a good but hollow BA, which is the exact opposite of his rep.  Cameron and Ellsbury can't stay on the field.  Lackey and Beckett have been cannon fodder.  They are 3d worse in runs allowed.

BTW -despite their obvious problems, take away their 2-8 against the Rays and NYY, and they more or less are tied for the lead in the division with the top two teams in baseball. They Red Sox problem right now is that they can't match up with the Rays and Yankees.   Giving away a series vs. the Os is a crime, too, but would not be fatal if we had split with TB and NYY.  We'll see how they do in interleague and against the other divisions.  I hope you remember to root for them when they play the Phillies 6 times (as we play Baltimore).

FoxSports.com is running a "Who will pitch the next perfect game?" poll.

The choices are, Tim Lincecum, Roy Halladay, Stephen Strasburg or a journeyman?

So, SS has already surpassed Ubaldo Jiminez?  :D

Move them to Buffalo or Syracuse.  Some place at worst neutral.  Or, as they say in Kentucky Fried Movie, "Take him to . . . Detroit!"

BTW, I'm rooting for Colorado to win two slugfests where they have to go deep into their pens in both games vs. the Phils today.

pulled from the Pirates' team report on Yahoo Sports:

Quote
“It was the most exciting double in PNC Park history.”

- LF Lastings Milledge, after being thrown out between second and third base in a May 6 game against the Cubs, breaking into a premature home run trot

nice to see he hasn't changed a bit :?

2 20-inning games will suffice.
