But Parra wanted to play regularly - not be an occasional pinch hitter and/or fill in outfielder.  It was as much a decision by Parra as by the Nats

I'm sure Parra received almost double what he would have received from any MLB team.

In fact, he did receive double what  he was making last year, plus a chance to be a regular.
