These MLB2K commercials are convincing me that we should never have ballplayers as actors.

haha i think verlander is kinda funny.

I think Tim Linceum has the best interviews of any current ballplayer. His interviews just seem natural and have a sort of flow to them. Definitely a guy I would want to have a beer or caesar salad with.

AL-GO goes yard to take a 7-5 lead in the top of the 10th.

I don't think that was AL-GO.

EDIT: Nope, scratch that. It was.

Should be Bruntlett. Now that Gonzales has hit a home run... he'll spend the next month trying to do nothing but take the ball deep.

 I said the same thing when I looked up at the TV and saw him.  Actually, I thought: "Why the hell is Nick Arata playing in an ST game??"

Well at least Arata was drafted by the team.  This Pedro fellow and Fox dude have never even been in the organization before.

Through the miracle of the DVR, I just finished watching the Mets game.  Thoughts after watching it and responding to some of the posts in the thread.

He (Gonzalez) is good at looking lost.
I'm admitadly not as anti AGon as others.  I though he looked very good at third today.  I still think there's a role for him, not as a starter, but he could be a capable utility guy playing 3b, SS, and 2b.  If he gets back to driving the ball instead of trying to pull everything, though that worked out ok in the end today, he could be a capable pinch hitter too, IMO.  I know that's the minority opinion though.

Lucky, lucky Guzman. Nice barehanded snag by Kennedy.
That was a tough, tough play after the liner took a ricochet off the mound.  Nice play all around.

Craig Stammen is going to surprise a lot of people this year. 3.96 ERA, 1.28 WHIP, 6.1 K/9, 2.8 BB/9
I agree, he had a good game today.

I am not either. I just remember some really weak swinging with the bat last season and he had some trouble when he was inserted at 2nd earlier in ST this year. Today at third he had some really nice throws to first and a few catches. Not perfect, but serviceable. I can see him in a utility role but also like you said, I can't see him as a starter.

If that's one of his best swings, send him to Minor League camp. It looked like a "excuse me" chopper.

what the hell were you watching?  it was a gapper that gary matthews jr robbed of a double.

Maxwell hasn't had a good spring, but I'll give credit when credit is due and he had a good swing on that one.

It was Fox. I just assumed it was Arata because I didn't know we had some no-name guy Adam Fox in camp.

It was a goofy looking golf swing. Wish I had DVR'ed so I could upload a screen shot.

It went that far because he's strong I guess, but the swing looked terrible.

Just want to point out that I do not like the idea of Kennedy batting 6th and Desmond batting second.

I'd flip those two to start the season.

Drop Taveras and Nieves, and you have the Nats starting fielders. Interesting, at least.
