Sigh... why did we send down our best ST pitcher (not named Strasburg) so early?

because they probably wanted him to start in the minors and its pretty embarassing if he's still playing well at the end of the Spring and the rest of the pen look like the detritus that its is. I'm guessing Stras will be heading down relatively soon for the same reason.

Cards inch a little closer.  Double over the head of JMax drives in the run.  Sounds like he took a bad route, but the Cards announcers aren't over complementary to players not on the St. Louis squad, so who knows.

4-2 Nats.

Pujols with warning track power.  Would have tied the game.  Bernadina tracks it down to end the inning.

Edit.  would have given the Cards the lead.

La Russa was so mad, he pulled Pujols from the game.

Turnbow just ended his stint with the Marlins.  It lasted 1o pitches, 2 of which were strikes, before leaving the game with the trainer holding his arm in place.

about damn time this team won a game. whew.

Desmond 2/4 with 2 Singles and a SB. BA sitting at .400.

Clippard and Burnett with scoreless innings in relief.

And some ABs for some of the minor league guys (Burgess, Marrero, L. Davis, Bynum, Norris, etc)

I'll come out and say it. Willie Harris should probably be the starting RF.

The box scores are showing both games in the middle of the 8th.  Don't you think we still have time to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory?

Harris handed my kids t-shirts at fan appreciation night last season after the game, so IMHO he should be team captain. :-)

That rumor was strenously debunked yesterday, but maybe it was a slow news day.
