Would it be evil of me to wish a little bit that Stras is awesome and Livo has one of his 2 out of 5 blow ups, just to get some of the younger guys like Martin and Stammen more seriously looked at for the bottom of the rotation?

For my next wish, may I hit the powerball.

Seriously Livo, three walks?

He's such a bum.

Yes.

Actually, I hate Livo and his worthlessness.

I really wish he'd get cut, today.

He's done...I have no idea why we keep bringing him back. Bring up some new blood because they can't do much worse.

Wait a minute, this is his first outing, and everyone knows Livan does NO offseason work.  I don't think that in any way can you draw the inference that he's "done" from his first two innings.

Well the rotation guessing thread is for BS posturing. I put SS in for a lark.

I base that off of his declining numbers. He's no longer MVP Livo. He's a 5+ ERA guy with over a 1.50 WHIP

Probably not from his first two outings of Spring Training, but certainly from the past two years of his career you can tell there is a silver fork with his name on it.

My larger point is that Livan a) should not expected to be at full ability in his first (or second) ST outing, and b) has been doing his routine for a decade and always manages to get where he needs to be by the start of the season.

Now I hope that we have guys step up and beat him out, but I think we can expect the 2009 Livan if we keep in on the team.  He'll get 20+ starts in MLB this year, for someone.

He gave up one ER in three innings. It would be nice if other pitchers on the staff were as effective. Livo is obviously well past his prime. Unfortunately, that aged vet on a minor-league deal gives a team a better chance to win than most of the arms the failed ownership has assembled in almost 4 years. The fact that Livan Hernandez is actully competing for one of 3 open spots in a rotation shows what a disaster the Lerner/Kasten regime has been.

if it is for us, then I'll consider it an Epic Failure by Kasten, Rizzo, and our Player Development staff.

Livan is and should be a last-ditch option only.
