I got Putz, Madson and Rauch pretty late and just added Franklin Morales as Street will miss the start of the season.  The only front-line closers I took were Aardsma (9th rd) who I loved last year, and Francisco Cordero (11th rd).  I'm going to kick myself for taking closers that high, but they seemed look good values after the top-tier guys were gone.

Excellent moves.  How deep is your league?  12 team mixed head to head?  You need the multiple closers then.

I'm in a 12 team AL roto 4 x 4 format, so having 2 closers guarantees you a pretty high finish in the category.  3 closers means trade.  I may release Jenks before my auction if he loses his job ($26).  Extreme, but with Valverde, Gonzalez, and Soriano coming over from the NL, Rodney and Putz being available in the draft, and the Toronto situation, there may be a chance I could snag another closer and have Thornton graduate.

5x5 10 team, we've been doing it for about 12 years now, it's pretty highly competitive.  The one year I finished first in saves I think I only drafted one closer and picked up Joe Borowski and a few other fill-ins off the waiver wire.

Kinda surprising about Garko.  I was expecting a platoon of him and Kotchmann to be fairly productive.

me too.  Repko was a former 1st rounder, wild how he hasn't panned out like most thought he would.

Speaking of former first round picks, Indians released former 6th overall pick Jeremy Sowers.

He went 6-11 with a 5.25 ERA last year and in his four-year career Sowers is 18-30, 5.18 ERA, 174 K/132 BB.  He is 26-years old.

He'd be a great depth/AAA signing for the Nats.

He's similar to Jamie Moyer... he's not going to overpower you... but he knows how to pitch.

I think his game profiles much better to the weaker hitting NL than it did with the AL.

I'd be OK with Sowers as a AAA signing/emergency guy.

One for mine! I've got three teams so I'm constantly checking to see if the hitters on my teams are hurting my pitchers on other teams!

Just caught up, bbqing took half an hour longer than I though. Love that Orel is going to slowly replace Morgan. Morgan spewing gibberish already. Josh Beckett will be terrible now that he's got the extension. Suck on that, Sox.

Joe Morgan makes me want to hurt myself.

He's lost it. Please take him out of the box.

That's what I was thinking.  He is really good.  He's actually helped Morgan be insightful.  I didn't think that was possible.

I commented last season that he is a total pro. A real thinking man. Good for him on the promotion.

I though it was ear-shatteringly horrible. And why not bring his hot daughter?
