Drew:

1.  What was you favorite part about playing for the Cotuit Kettleers?

2.  What sort of things did you do for fun when playing for the Cape League?

3.  Would you agree that the Orleans Cardinals (Firebirds) are the best baseball team that ever played in the whole wide world?

(As you may have noticed, I was born and raised in Orleans, MA and have attended thousands of Cape League games and am in firm belief that the Orleans Cardinals are the best baseball team that ever played in the whole world of baseball)

Boo! Go Kettleers! ;)  I vacation in Woods Hole, but often trek up to the beautiful Lowell Park to catch games.

Welcome to the site, Drew! Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions. It was nice to see you sign quickly and perform so well this past year... can't wait to see you at Nats Park.

Who was the best or one of the best Nationals Minor League player(s) that you saw during your brief tour through Hagerstown, Potomac, and Harrisburg?

Did your velocity increase from college or is it the same? Some people had you clocked in the low 90s during your time at Stanford but playing in the minor leagues you were clocked in the mid to upper 90s.

Eldredge Park totally beats the pants off of Lowell Park!  ;)

Legion Field (Chatham) is a great place to watch a game as well.

That's a great question!  If I had any athletic ability and was drafted, I'd be bummed if I were drafted by a team that I disliked as a fan.  I have "my" teams, then most other teams in the sport I can respect and I wouldn't care, but one or 2 teams that I dispise and wouldn't want to be drafted by.

$20 million could change that.

Drew:  If you had a choice, would you rather be brought in to start the 9th with a 1 to 3 run lead or be brought in in the 7th or 8th when the opposing team has the go ahead runner on base or at the plate?

Is Mike Hinkley as smoking hot in person as he is on TV?

:)

J/k (well, sorta kidding)

When do you (or the coaches) think you'll be making your major league debut? And do you hope it's against a specific team? If so, who!?

Would you rather eat a bucket of worms or hit Chase Utley in the ribs?

EDIT: Actually in all seriousness the Indiana thing is important to my career as a baseball fan. Drew will bear this out - we just don't have a team to root for. The Columbus newspaper printed Reds box scores, but I didn't want to be a Reds fan (even as an 11-year-old I knew about Marge Schott!). Up in Indy they did some reporting on the White Sox. The Indianapolis Indians have a really nice ballpark, but it's hard to really root for them ... the only major leaguer I saw play for the Indians was Jason LaRue. So I was a guy without a team. Spent a couple years cheering for the Athletics, because they won the World Series the year I was born; spent a couple years rooting for the Indians and White Sox. In 2005 I chose the Washington Nationals because they represented a fresh start, a team I could cheer for and not need a reason to.

 :worship:

I'm glad someone can relate, you just summed up my entire childhood right there. And I too chose the national because they were a fresh start (and my mom's family is from there).

Oh ya, and have you heard of or are you expecting any fun spirited hazing rituals that the Nationals have for Rookies?

Wait we have chats on here now?  How does that work and where's the Bally transcript?

EDIT: okay I found out.  I loved SF's question and the fact Bally responded with the whip.  Oh man that's funny on so many damn levels.  Okay back to the questions for Drew, my bad.

And if so, what will Jesus Flores' job be?

Dude, we could totally have a tongue-in-cheek religion theme going on. Stephen Savior, Jesus, John [Lannan] the Baptist, which I guess makes Drew the angel who swoops in with trumpets during the apocalypse.

Drew -

Any drunken Stanford Tree stories?

You played w/Jeff Kobernus in the Cape Cod league and he went to Cal. You guys close? How bout a scouting report?

Will you be okay with the fact that Rob Dibble is going to use his 1980s baseball knowledge and experience as a measuring stick for *everything* you do?

Have you ever had as sexy a battery-mate as Wil Nieves? (Sorry, wife stole my computer there.)

Finally, has Pro ball been all you've hoped for so far? Are you enjoying the ride?

Do you have any quirky pregame rituals that we may want to know about.

Also, do iron the brim of your cap like Chad Cordero did?

Why don't you just edit your previous post instead of making a new one?
