When you post in any board that isn't baseball related, your post count doesn't increment.

Doesn't really matter now, changing it won't retroactively reduce anyone's post count.

For glaring offenders like SF, you could just check their statistics and see how many are in gameday threads, then subtract them

SF deserves much of the derision he attracts. However, in the interest of equity, I would observe that his aggressive monitoring and frequent updates on the subject of minor, fall and winter league activity are very useful and informative.

SF can have his astronomical post count, it's not hurting anything. He'll max it out in another year or two anyway (max individual post count is 99,999)

He'd probably max faster than that if I hadn't disabled individual post counting for the loft.

That's up to the individual reader to evaluate.

It's not entirely meritless. At the very least, you can get an idea of a member's level of active participation in baseball discussion.

That said, I'm not going to disagree that post counts are often used as a status thing on message boards. I haven't really seen much of that here, though.
