This reeks of a deal cut by LaRussa to return.  He's one of the most notorious steroids deniers of all, and he's bringing his boy back.  My respect for the Cardinals franchise takes a significant step down.

McGwire:  You go to GNC and you ask for this Andro...

Player:  Ok, let me write this down.

McGwire:  And for gosh sakes DON'T KEEP IT IN YOUR LOCKER!

I'll let Ryan speak for himself, but the link kind of gives away his perspective.

Is he raising hell about Ortiz?

I don't know.  Some parts of the Boston media were very critical of him, some others said he might be being honest about the supplements he admitted to taking.  I think universally every media person said he should have spoken (to the media) right away rather than try to find out what he was accused of.  The old, if you aren't hiding anything, then you have no reason not to agree to a body cavity search.

Sportswriters are just as guilty as Bud Selig in sweeping PED use under the rug. Ryan,Boswell,Gammons etc... are worse than Bonds,Clemens & McGwire. They were the whistleblowers and decided that the free meal in the press box was what they cared most about.

those free meals are pretty awesome. UMD used to give out free chic fil a and the Caps give out some great stuff. ;)

I don't know about hammering Boswell on that one. He was one of the first to harp on it and was constantly critical of Selig and his phony pleas of ignorance. Gammons is certainly an apologist. His behavior during the Roger Clemens episode was pathetic. Steve Phillips is another guy who is just a liar and a fraud on this issue and had zero credibility as an ESPN analyst when the Mitchell report came out..
