That is awesome! Congrats. I won the 23yo version last year but it's still sitting down in my bunker unopened. When the turtle finally gets around to inviting me over to sample the Pappy he won I'll bring it along.  Myself I've been on a dryspell with the ABC lottery but I'm hoping that changes with the current Pappy drawings that are ongoing.

Thanks.  I don't have any plans on opening mine anytime soon either.

Ah, it's only Jim Beam. Nothing to see here.

This. Wholehearted agreement.

BTW I took advantage of this to acquire a Wild Turkey 101 1.75L, and a new WT product Longbranch that is filtered through both oak and mesquite charcoal.  Not bad.

I love OGD 100, and Makers is a very competent whiskey found in just about every hotel bar.

Haven't tried Bookers yet, but Basil Hayden has that high rye mashbill and is delectable.

Oh, and I forgot the affordable Knob Creek, that single barrel 120 has been an excellent go-to for backpacking trips.

OGD 100 and WT101 are my staples. Makers and the 46 are both excellent. A coworker was just telling me about the basil Hayden rye. Probably pick up a bottle of that this weekend.

Ginger ale's never been a go to for me.    But years ago, there was a tasting at a place where I DJ'd and I got into Captain and OJ for awhile.    My stomach couldn't handle the OJ so I gave it up.

What's in a high ball?    I think I've had one drink that had a name  ....   Manhattan.    That was December 31, 1969.

EDIT:    Google sez a high ball is a mixture of alcohol and a non-alcoholic stuff  ...   like a 7 and 7 or rum and coke.    I've had a few of those.     Is a shot and beer a high ball?     :mg:

I've also heard of "depth charges".     Drop the shot glass in the draft and whoop there it is.
