In Italy we discovered the Aperol Spritz, a very popular pre-dinner drink that originated in Venice.  We saw people drinking them everywhere.  It has a slight orange flavor, with a bitter aftertaste.  I bought what I needed to make one tonight:

3 parts Prosecca (Italian sparking wine)
2 parts Aperol (or Campari if you want 3x the alcohol)
1 part club soda

Serve in a tall wine glass over ice with a slice of orange

(Image removed from quote.)

Kinda like White Zin...salute...

Loved the taste...not the heartburn...

Can't say I ever had more than one.

Costco has this for $7 I believe.

Proseco is like any other wine, you can spend a little or a lot on it. I’m pretty sure you can get it canned

I bought a couple of half bottles for around $7 at Giant.

...got back this past Tuesday from Estonia where for a week I indulged in much of their incomparable Viru Valge vodka (not exported to USA - worth the airfare indeed).

Neighbors went to OC.    The other neighbor and I dog sat.    So, they bring me back a jug of rum from OC.   It's even made in OC  ....  Seacrets Distilling Company.     Pretty nice and smooth with a bit of a cinnamon after taste.

Had a caipirinha for the first time at a restaurant and enjoyed it. It’s made with cachaca, a Brazilian spirit made with sugar cane - basically the Brazilian version of rum. I had to go out and buy some cachaca and try to make the drink at home. Turns out a caipirinha is simple to make - lime juice, sugar, and cachaca over ice. Very refreshing drink for summer.

Rum from OC?  Who knew?  I’d expect it to have a taffy aftertaste.  :mg:

Have you gotten to Springfield Manor Distillery near Thurmont yet?  They have nice rums, rye, and a lavender gin that’s getting national awards apparently. I’m not a gin drinker so I wouldn’t know, but I did enjoy a few of their rums.

If someone enters a lottery for booze, they got issues.      :poke:

Our own Turtle was a recent lottery winner of one of the Pappy products. And he's yet to share a taste with me.  :whip:

The rules.

If I win one of these bottles, how much could I get for it on the "open market"?

I wish they would sell buffalo trace that way- affordable, really good, and lasts a day on the store shelf

I was at my local ABC this morning (after stopping at the library) and they got some Buffalo in today. I left it there since I’m working on a 1.75 but I did get a bottle of their bourbon cream. Quite tasty with my Tim Horton’s.

However, you can enter Maryland liquor lotteries without being a resident.
