-Cavs were playing the second game of a b2b. had a track meet with Golden State last night.
-Wiz were getting Foye and Jamison back.
-Wiz were at home. They have beat Cleveland in 5 straight at the Verizon Center.
-The line seemed reasonable. This Cavs team isn't even close to last year's team.

Nice win against a very solid team. Can't wait until they are all on the same page again. I still believe in this team.

Among them, from the AP:

Quote
Local sports stars Alex Ovechkin, Nicklas Backstrom and Mike Green of the Capitals, and Ryan Zimmerman of the Nationals were in the sellout crowd of 20,173.

Miller needs to start shooting more. He's easily the best shooter on the team. Second best 3-point shooter in the NBA.

+1.  Not only is he a great shooter, but he is just an all-around smart player when he has the ball.  He works perfectly in Saunders offense and knows exactly what to do in every situation.  The thing that scares me is that the Wizards are not handling his injury properly.  The first game he injured his shoulder, they sent him back out and he re-injured it.  The game last night, he was wincing in pain around the three min mark in the 4th quarter when there really wasn't any doubt about the outcome of the game, yet they still left him in.  Unbelievable.

Yea well, if you could ever get Gilbert to stop being a ball -hog and trying to make all the shots. I can't tell you how many times I have seem Miller in the corner, set to make a shot, holding his hands up to Arenas to throw him the ball, and Gilbert takes the shot himself -which he misses, of course. Miller is the 3 point specialist, but does Arenas throw him the ball - Nooooooooo.
My two new favorites are Boykins, that little guy is a shooter -he's only 5'6" tall, and Miller. Both are awesome players to watch. Now if we could just get some cohesiveness going on this team and they could get the ball out of Gilbert's hands once in a while.....
And do not let Stevenson shoot....please...he can not hit the side of a barn to save his soul.....

Celebs at the game from the Sport Bog (I figured he'd write about it because that's what he does):

Quote
Anyhow, when you weren't staring at the white man with the black sleeve and the black man with the white sleeve, maybe you noted some of the celebrities who were in the house. Not real celebrities, maybe, but D.C. sports celebrities, at least.

Alex Ovechkin, Nicklas Backstrom and Mike Green, who gets the award for hanging out with the most D.C. athletes from the most different sports.

Albert Haynesworth, who was wearing a walking boot and apparently nearly got tangled up with Darnell Jackson. No, Haynesworth did not take a knee.

Ryan Zimmerman, Craig Stammen and John Lannan.

Joe Flacco and his eyebrows.

Rock Cartwright, Brian Orakpo, Rocky McIntosh and London Fletcher, who, alarmingly, is a Cavs fan. McIntosh at least represented for the linebackers, writing "Go wizards that's the way you stick it to the Cavs....."

Greivis Vasquez, who also supported the proper team. "Big W for the wizards.. Way to get it done..." he wrote.

Ben Olsen, who was silent and invisible.

I mean, you could argue that the heart and soul of all five D.C. sports teams showed up to this game: Fletcher, Zimmerman, Jamison, Olsen and Ovechkin, with apologies to Brooks Laich, I suppose.

The Wizards are 3-9. Their record after 12 games last season? 2-10. Some improvement.

 maybe by 2020 we will have a good team.

in the meantime, we must blow this nag up. Butler, Arenas, and Jamison are not the answers. Get rid of them all and start from scratch.

Read the piece about the Wiz in today's POST.    Arenas is a "piece of work".    What a waste of money that signing was.

Yep. He used to be my favorite now he's quickly becoming one of the most hated players in D.C.

here are the quotes:

Quote
"I guess you start losing everyone wants to start pointing fingers everywhere else," Arenas said. "I converted my game to try to get people involved, but at the end of the day, to be honest, this is the same team since three years ago. We added a couple of pieces. You had Roger Mason, now you have Randy Foye. But Dray is Dray, Caron's Caron, Antawn's Antawn. It's basically the same thing, so I'm sitting here thinking, 'Do I have to go into attack mode like I was two years ago to get us over the hump?' I hope not. I hope we're strong enough mentally that we can get over this."

Quote
Still, Arenas believes that he has had to scale back his game for the betterment of the team. "I think the only person who actually had to sacrifice was me. Everybody else can just play their game," Arenas said.

Arenas is averaging 19.3 shot attempts, which leads the team, but has the worst field goal percentage of the starters at 39 percent. Through three quarters on Saturday, he had taken 18 shots -- the same as Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison combined. "Before, I would've taken 27 shots on a night like this to keep us in the game," Arenas said. "But I'm not trying to revert to that. Before, I'd look at Eddie and he'd say, 'Take over the game.' But I've got trust in these guys that eventually Randy's going to start hitting shots. He's coming off of injury. That Caron's going to start catching and shooting, that we'll start getting production out of Dray again."

Quote
"Everybody needs to get on the same level, that's all. Everyone's got their own individual goals, I guess. Hidden agendas. You can't win like that," he said. "I've never been on a team where you have eight free agents next year. I've never played on a team like that. I've never seen it turn out well. Sometimes it works out for the best because everybody's hungry and everybody's fighting. Sometimes it works out for the worst when everybody's out for their own."

Huh? The eight free agents have hidden agendas?

Haywood is the only free agent who has played every game this season, but it's not like rebounding and blocking shots is a disruption. Mike Miller has been playing with one arm because he's a competitor. Randy Foye has been hurt and received limited minutes of late. Fabricio Oberto is the ultimate team player, so much so that Spurs Coach Gregg Popovich said the guy is going to heaven when he dies. Earl Boykins has played three games. Dominic McGuire doesn't play. And Mike James and Javaris Crittenton are both out injured.

He has freaking lost his mind. He wants to blame everybody but himself. Gilbert is obviously the most culpable for this team's disastrous start. And he is also going to be the downfall of this entire franchise.

With his contract, he shouldn't be scalling back, he should be carrying the team on his back. If he didn't want the expectations, he shouldn't have taken the money.

he should look at himself in the mirror. he is playing the worst out of anyone on the team.

Even McGee and Young are contributing tonight.

Earl Boykins is a better PG than Arenas.

Nick Young is killing this team defensively right now. 4 straight plays he was out of position.

Wizards up by one with 28 seconds left.

As a side note, he was talking about Caron. Seems Caron doesn't get along too well with his teammates. That was also mentioned on Comcast SportsNet Show.
I'm outta here - have a great Turkey Day, sportsfan882
