Hopefully this move helps Dukes out, he blows at the plate lately.

+1

In other news, all of the mythical (though factual in SF's mind) Wright jockstrap sniffers have repented.

You know your team blows when people get excited about Wil Nieves being in the starting lineup.

Won't it be a mirage, as he'll see more fastballs at the top of the lineup?

Why would he see more fastballs?

Doesn't "conventional wisdom" state that you throw more off-speed stuff to the middle/bottom of the order, and pitch to the guys at the top and the #8 guy?

Of course when a guy admits in an interview that he has no ability to hit curves, that probably trumps CW.

Not really. I think with Pelfry you get more fastballs with runners on base because he doesn't throw his other pitches from the stretch very well.

We've seen no less than 4 players on the team called that.  Not only do I not agree with that but it's also not possible.  Four players can not share the title of worst.

Bard is the worst. Worst player of this year.

.229 BA, .287 OBP, horrible ABs, terrible defense, no ability to run or move.

Bard has had some pop when he needed it, never complained, played hurt because the team needed him, and the young pitchers love him and his advice. Didn't someone say that numbers don't tell the whole story?

Wil Nieves "resumes his place" as defacto starting catcher on a 100 loss team playing out the string and experimenting with a SS in RF. Yippee.

Why does SF only selectively use stats that support his agenda. Why not compare the whole statline between the 2 players.

Bard: .229/.287/.361/.648 OPS
Nieves: .258/.303/.300/.604 OPS

SF likes to mention that Zimmerman has 3X as many HR's as Wright, but did you know that Bard has 6X the amount of HR's that the great Wil Nieves has this season? Bard has 3X as many HR this season as Nieves has in his whole career.

Because it's a fact in his mind.

the team would have been better with him going on the DL.

do you know the contract status on these two for next year? nieves arbitration eligible?

why does that matter? he has ran into a few HRs. who cares?

he cannot run, cannot throw, cannot stop balls, cannot hit, and so on.

Worst overall player of the year.

If he is even given a ST invite we will know that we are freaked for next year.
