Villone and Kensing FTW

I thought Riggleman said he was going to maintain the integrity of the game and put players out there who give us the best chance to win  :hurr:

Dukes with his second error of the day.

Villone's ERA up to 4.74. Kensing's ERA up to 9.95.

The only thing stopping this team from being well on its way to 200 losses is that the season, mercifully, ends after 162 games.  Otherwise, we'd be there soon enough!!!

Where is the progress Stan?

I don't pay to watch a game in the future, I watch the junk the Lerners and Stan have put on the field now.   The level of effort is disgraceful.    I don't see how personnel changes will make things better when the ownership is more concerned about accounting procedures than wins.

Riggleman's excuses in this press conference takes the cake this season. I thought Acta was bad, I thought Riggleman was bad, but this presser is ridiculous.

Dunn's face told the whole story. Dunn hates losing, but he doesn't have the answers on why the Nationals, who have lost 102 games this season, are struggling as bad as they are.

"I don't like losing," Dunn said. "I can't really point a finger why we are losing. It's very frustrating. I can't put it into words. I hate it. I hate it. It's not good."
I don't understand it either. The only thing that explains it is this team is just a bunch of losers.

The Padres have far worse talent and they are 72-83!! 20 Games better than us!! And they have no offense and no rotation. Their bullpen is good and so is their defense. Is that the difference?

he's trying to campaign for his job next year i guess.  don't expect him to throw and kick stuff around at this point in the season.

yeah the padres are bad.  i think the way we played in the second half better reflects our team than the ugly nats in the first half.  i mean game after game it was blown saves/bad defense and now it's usually just one or the other.  it put us in a big hole.

oh well the plan is working ... oh and they lowered 3,300 ticket prices next season 8) :lmao:

Seriously, why does Ron Villone have to pitch in every single game. Great Idea Riggleman.

we have been horrible in the second half too.

April: 5-16
May: 9-20
June: 9-17
July: 9-18
August: 14-15
September: 6-16

Pretty damn consistent. God awful all season. August where we had our token "hot streak" still saw us finish the month under .500. The Padres are 20 games better than us. 20 GAMES!

obviously we've been better in the 2nd half though, that's my point.

i have tickets to tomorrow's game, i'm letting the rents go and i'll just watch the skins on one of my hdtv's @ my place.

If you look at run differential, the Nats and Padres are basically the same team, but they are 20 games ahead of us in the standings due to their bullpen and having better managers.

If he tried to use a good righty instead of Villone, he'd blow a circuit and start saying "Does not compute" which smoke billowed out of his ears.

defense too.

good defense, good bullpen, competent manager = +20 games in the standings.

We have ZERO strengths. Pitching is the worst, defense is the worst, and the offense is near the bottom.

Because if he didn't we'd have a better chance of winning and WE CAN'T HAVE THAT!

You just show a complete lack of understanding of point differential, which is SUBTRACTION.
