GAME OVER.  WE LOSE.

The Natinals will never have a winning record, until PC gets an avatar.

This sweep was REQUIRED, to compensate San Diego for stinking
enough in 2008 to be able to draft Stephen Strasburg,
and keep them from getting him.

Thankfully this one is over. This has to be one of the worst series that I've watched the Nats play. They just looked lifeless in each game.

But just in case anyone wants my view on it, that's at least 57 games this season that any losses rest squarely on the pitching.

You and SF both have the same strain of deliberate obtuseness, I'm convinced.

SF, since you apparently count for yourself, 3 or fewer runs in 58 games.

PC, the point was to put some hard data out there for the purpose of furthering the discussion of the team's offense.

Not everyone's post is loaded.
you posted stats but you didn't give your take on the stats.

do you think this god awful offense is good? really? :natsfan4evr batsignal:

I wasn't involved in the cat fight/pissing contest/nagfest so, in this case, I was, indeed, obtuse.

So my observation of simple arithmetic stands.

This team played like they couldn't wait to get back to D.C. and pack their lockers.

Don't worry guys. You just have to last one more month and two days and you can go play golf where ever the hell you do.

Out of 2242 teams since 1900, The Nats are ranked 2190th (2nd percentile) in winning % when scoring 5 runs or more. Basically, our pitching sucks.

I maintain that this was the worst series of the season even worse than the Marlins, three blown saves series.

DPMOmaha disagrees.

out of 2242 teams since 1900, The Nats are ranked 2226 (1st percentile) in winning % when scoring 4 runs or more (37-38 record). Basically, our pitching sucks no matter how many runs we score.

Yep, they have packed it in. The white flag has been posted and golf reservations have been made.

it's disgusting. is this a major league team?

major league teams aren't supposed to punt games series. This is unacceptable.

Excellent post

SF, I thought my take was pretty clear.  Unfortunately you continue to refuse to see what anyone says and instead substitute your own special brand of insane strawmen.  I'd be happy to explain my views on any number of things to you if I thought that any that didn't coincide with your own wouldn't be met with scathing incredulity and wild baseless accusations.

people on here like to rip other people's opinions but are hesitant to provide opinions of their own.

Our pitching sucks. Our defense sucks. Our hitting sucks. Our coaching sucks. Nothing is going right with this team/franchise.

It's like asking which is hotter, molten lava or or the heat created upon space shuttle re-entry.  Who cares, really?  They both sucked balls.  The Marlins (along with several other games) series early killed the season.  This one poured salt in the wound.

The worst games of 2009 for me were those two losses to the Pirates during the last series we had with them.

I don't know who you're inferring, but to be quite honest you are prone to such frequent and over-the-top rhetoric that it's hard to take anything you say very seriously.  And that's not an insult, just an honest assessment.

but we ended up taking the last two.

any of the Marlins series are up there. as well as the 4 game home sweep against Chicago and this series against San Diego.

I don't know what you mean by that but whatever.

At least people know what I mean when I post something rather than some on here who either don't offer their own opinions or type in cryptic which makes their opinion indistinguishable.

I thought it was a pretty straight-forward statement, but I guess it doesn't surprise me that you don't get it.  You really do remind me a ton of my little brother.  Not far from his age either.
