i'm not like bob carpenter and gonna bow down to albert pujols like he's better than babe ruth, but i will give him credit.  i don't give us credit for throwing bergmann out there.  lannan/macdougal should have been in.

Our entire bullpen is absolute trash.  Even Clippard and MacDougal are barely adequate.

Burn it to the grooooooound.  We need to revamp, big-time.

I gotta say.

I really, really, really dislike Khalil Greene.

why did he have to be a baseball player? why couldn't he be like..a swimmer, or a hockey player..or some other sport that I don't give a crap about?

I agree with that. even Clip, MacDougal, and Burnett should not be guaranteed spots next year. clean house in the off-season, Mike.

this crap is not acceptable. I can't believe we didn't claim Jon Rauch. could have had him for next year too because of the option. :?

If he stays hot move him to 5th and Hammer to 6th for cover for Z and Dunn

I defended him earlier in the season and he is still better than Sosa and Villone but that is not saying much.

Bergmann is minor league fodder and should be dumped in the off-season. just get rid of his ass. no more fooling with his bullcrap. he sucks and always will suck. freakkkkk

The manager has to know his players' limitations.  Bergmann shouldn't be in the position of pitching to the 3-4-5 hitters of the St. Louis Cardinals.  Lannan would likely have been the best option but I wouldn't have been comfortable with any pitcher in that situation.

But definitely not Bergmann.

Next season, Bergmann should be viewed as the 7th pitcher on a 7 or 8 man bullpen, if he's brought back.  That's not the pitcher you use in this situation.

This is mostly Riggleman's fault.

Dukes was playing like crap for months, so you know AZ wasn't gonna be around. soon as he gets more than one hit in a game, here his dumb ass comes to jerk off about it.

go the freak back to where you came from, jackass.

it is Bowden and Rizzo's fault that we have nages like Bergmann on the roster. He should not be brought back in any scenario.

I agree that MacDougal or Lannan would have been better alternatives but let's face it our bullpen is complete trash and no one can be fully trusted.

:az: dukes had a good game i will give him that.

it was one of his best this year. he had an exceptional evening, especially in his last at bat. 0-2 hole, breaking ball, and he adjusted and went the opposite way for a double. very impressive. he was also great with the glove in right.

he's got his BA up to .252 on the year with 5 BBs to 27 Ks. 2 HRs and only 4 SBs (3 CS). :lmao:

You can't tell me that Jason Bergmann is much worse that the 7th pitcher in most teams' bullpens!  The benefit of bringing back in that position is that he's a known quantity.  If you don't bring him back, you're going to have to find somebody else, who'll be just as bad, to fill the same position.

eh, i'm not gonna let this pathetic loss (thanks to a few pathetic players) spoil my long vacation.

Lannan pitched a gem to hush up his doubters, Zimmerman was solid @ 3B and it was good to see Dukes come up with some big hits (hopefully he builds on it).

i will talk to you all tomorrow from san diego.  have a good night.

GO SKINS!

have you looked at his numbers:

35.1 IP 39 H 23 ER 6 HR 15 BB 29 K (2-4, 5.86 ERA, 1.53 WHIP)

He is AAA fodder. will not be on any big league team next year. we will not accept this crap next year or at least I hope we will not. keeping guys like Bergmann on the roster will not get us any closer to winning.
