nats bats ice cold.

like PC said, we have seen this movie a billion times.

5 runs in 5 innings is not cold. I swear that you seriously think that every offense that doesn't score in all the innings is ice cold.

in just 5 innings, it's not good.

Why pull him after only 100 pitches? Jeez.

Dukes is not good offensively, not good defensively - time to give up on him.

You can hope for a different ending but how can you expect it?  That's the definition of insanity.

That is why it's called hope. There are no guarantees in just hoping.

I'm going to rename you sportsfan883

Do you, honestly, think the Nationals have a chance to win this game?  Better question, do you think Cubs fans, watching this game from this point, expect the Cubs to come back and win?

What team, playing the Nationals, wouldn't expect to win this game, in exactly the same situation?  Not one.  Every team in baseball expects to beat the Nationals in a game like this.  Not hopes, expects to win.

Why are we all wrong?

Agreed, and I was a Dukes supporter.

Time to sign Holliday.

he was not good today.  rigs wants to win this game.

Dukes is not good offensively, not good defensively - time to give up on him.

he put a good swing on that ball, ramirez made a great play at third.  i'll give you that he's streaky as hell.

Time to sign Holliday.

word is holliday and cards are gonna try and get an extension.  i would love this line-up:

CF Morgan
SS Guzman
3B Zimmerman
1B Dunn
LF Holliday
RF Willingham
2B Hudson/Figgins/DeRosa
C Flores

I don't care about his swing - he's hitting .237 with no one pressuring him, and the power isn't there. He's a 4th outfielder maybe.

nats score 5 runs, both Zimmerman and Dunn hit HRs, and SF is complaining about the offense being "ice cold"?

really?

how many runs do we need to score to not be "ice cold"? 20? 30?

So are you saying he is turning the corner of Syracuse St. and Getthefreakout Ave.?

Well, I HOPE they win but I EXPECT them to lose games like this.

Let me make this perfectly clear, I take no pleasure in expecting the team that I root for to lose!

JD Martin is a lot more intriguing than Dukes at this point.

Don't be a chickencrap.  The score's already 5-3, so you're really betting that 2 runs won't win the game

no i simply said he hit the ball hard and the third baseman made a nice play.  that's all.

it's put up or shut up time for dukes.  if he doesn't get the job done the remainder of the year we'll be in the FA market for another OF (that's if we pony up of course 8))
