Hood still second best BA in Syracuse: about .310. Playing regularly in OF with Goodwin (.230 or so) and Souza (.349). Maybe Hood has found his way as a baseball player? (Not as high OPS as I would have expected...though will have to look it up)

Goodwin has a .380 OBP, though. He's doing just fine adjusting to AAA.

Hood up to .310 with .825 or so OPS. Goodwin has .683 OPS now, hitting about .222.

No. I suspect that Goodwin is less of a prospect. He doesn't hit. Hit nothing last year; nothing so far this year. I'm not happy about it, but everytime a scout writes about Goodwin's elegant mechanics, great swing, fast hands, I remember why Billy Beane ("Beane can't miss!!!") is suspicious of scouts and their tools. Goodwiin seems to lack the "hit tool".

Goodwin OPS'd .762 and stole 19 bases. He's fine considering it's his second season of pro ball.

From Double A on, Hood has put up low walk numbers and high strikeouts.

In fairness, Hood has cut back on Ks this year.  17 in 98 PAs.  8 BBs, too.   HE's showing improved plate discipline.  Let's see if it sticks.  Not showing great power with an ISO of .136.  Just 8 XBH.

As of tonight, Hood has 4 HR, hitting .316 and OPS of about .940. Godwin hitting .216, OPS of .671, and leading Syracuse with 55 Ks. Not good for Godwin.

Hood 3/5 with 2 doubles and a run tonight. BA up to .347 in 98 ABs with Syracuse.

Not sure what to even make of his season. He's still 24 but I don't know if he does anything well enough to be more than a 4th OFer.

He was drafted a s toolsy, high ceiling guy. But if he keeps this up, may as well call him up in September.

Maybe Hood is improving as he concentrates on baseball. Maybe Goodwin has peaked? If I had to choose now, I'd call up Souza and start him in LF until Zimmerman or Harper is ready. I would call up Hood in September. And I would hope that Goodwin learns to hit...otherwise, Michael Taylor, Harrisburg, looks like the future CF.

I've seen video of Goodwin field. He's good. Smooth. Doesn't hit, though. If only...

Hood no longer carrying second-best average at Syracuse. He's hitting .330, but Zach "Remember Me?" Walters is back in LF, hitting about .340.

I have no clue what the hell to make of Hood's season.

He's 24 and in AAA and has put up a .308/.353/.504 line. 6 doubles and 3 HRs over his last 10 games are encouraging.

Something is in the water in Syracuse though lol. Everyone including Walters, Moore, and Souza are all putting up huge numbers there this season.

Well, he's 24 and in Triple A. Souza is 25. Moore is 27 and Walters is almost 25. They're Quad A players. Great in Triple A, doesn't translate to the MLB level. Though, to be fair, we don't know about Hood yet.

quad A implies that they've failed in the majors - hood and souza haven't been given a chance

Quad A simply means they're great in Triple A and struggle in the majors. I'm predicting Hood will be that player. I don't know about Souza but I doubt we'll ever find out with him in a Nationals uniform.

I think Hood is a decent prospect as he hits for average and can get on base with decent speed but he doesnt seem to have the ceiling to be a everyday player
