Hopefully, someone will look at Felipe Lopez and what he did when he left Washington, look at Guz and our record, and say "he's just lost his focus a bit because he plays for a lousy team, but if he comes to a pennant race, we'll get the all star back." It's a hope. That, and paying a Lugo / Wilson premium, and maybe you can get something. Perhaps a bigger problem is finding a team. I like the thought of him to Minnesota. They have Punto who can be the defensive replacement. they could even maybe try him at 3d if Crede can't take the field.
As for who plays SS for us? I really don't care too much at this point, sorry to say. I'd prefer a $400K veteran who has a decent glove (I don't care about the bat) if we are unwilling to turn it over to Alberto Anderson, or whatever the name is of the glove guy who we go gaga over because he has 2 months of decent hitting.
