Batting Kearns 5th and Patterson 6th is just embarrassing. I would fire Acta because of that alone.

Dukes was getting a day off and Willingham isn't around so who would you bat there?

At least Kearns has a good arm, nice play by him in RF.

Who else thought "Nice play! Oh damn it was Kearns... I wish he sucked at everything equally so we could send him away"

Nice play, but not $8 million worthy

BTW: Chief, I love the new avatar. I miss Press Your Luck.

Kearns activating defensive Beast Mode.   You know the freaking awesome guy hated to see that. He would prefer to see a leadoff double for the yankees.  :?

I can't believe we only have 4 outfielders not counting Dunn.

I would bat Harris, Nieves, and Hernandez ahead of Patterson and Kearns. Bat Kearns 8th and Patterson 9th.

I still don't understand why they called up Patterson though instead of someone like Langerhans or Casto.

Stammen breaking out the curveball.  That thing is a beauty and those are the first few I have seen.

Kearns started over Dukes.
Kearns made a sparkling play.
6 hr rain delay.
Belliard on the bench.
Nats are winning.

Nightmare scenario for AZ

I haven't seen a game in many, many days but Detwiler has a sick curve too, right?

So, according to Dibble, this team is 3 years away from contending, using the 2003 Tigers theory.

hahahaha both are amazingly pathetic with the bats, but both made solid plays (big outs).  kearns has always had a gun and can read balls off the wall well.  patty got a great jump/break on that one.

man I love our starting rotation.

martis has the best change ... i'd say bally/det have the best curve ... zimmermann with the top fastball ... lannan has a good slider ... stammen is known for his sinker.
