Ramon Ortiz, RHP (5-5, 5.27)
Ortiz was lucky to get a no-decision in his last outing against New York. The right-hander was responsible for five runs in the fifth inning alone, before leaving with only one out. The outing was his shortest of the year and was a season-high for runs allowed for Ortiz.

VS.

A.J. Burnett, RHP (0-1, 5.06)
Burnett had a successful outing in his first start in two months, but picked up a no-decision. After being activated from the 60-day disabled list on Thursday, the right-hander fanned seven and allowed two runs on five hits in six innings against Atlanta. Burnett said he had no lingering issues from the right elbow woes that led to two trips to the disabled list this season. In 13 career starts against Washington, Burnett is 6-3 with a 3.80 ERA. He went 1-0 with a 2.03 ERA versus the Nationals last season.

Let's hope we won't be giving the most expensive winless pitcher in baseball his first 'W' tonight :?

Our infielders are scarey overall. I really liked if Zimmerman could switch to ss or 2b. Vidro and Clayton are solid but they're old, slow, and their range isn't taht good. You ever wonder why so many groundballs amke it through up the middle. At first i thought it was jsut luck, but after watching thsese guys in action i got to reconsider.

Frank platoons Ward.  Only uses him against southpaws, even though Ward hits RHP's .250, leads the team in AB/HR's and has a .400+ OBP.
Frank doesn't check stats, he relies on gut feelings to maintain his .478 career W-L record.

Ortiz went from 0-2 to 3-2 then gave up a homerun.

And again, it's third out drama.

They said Ward would have been DHing today, but he isnt at the stadium yet.

Ortiz gives up the homer to the starter with the fewest HRs on the team.  6 Blue Jays bat over .300 + 2 more over .290.  They've got hitters to burn, but I guess they gotta compete with Yankees and Red Sox.  We should take one with us...

Him and Mike Stanton decided to travel seperate from the team and with all the bad weather in the area they are going to be late to the game.

Nationals Radio said Ward was on the standby list for the flight, and got BUMPED OFF it!  Flights must have been crowded from the bad weather.  You just can't make this stuff up anymore...For what they pay MLB players, they should have bought themselves a jump seat in the cockpit, or offered someone $500 for their seat.

We're out-hitting them 5-2, gotta get some runs on the board soon at this rate...

After 3 innings, Ortiz had 64 pitches to Burnet's 32.  5 more pitches = 37.  He's heading for a CG if we don't start hitting.  Soriano now leads left fielders with 8 errors, but has 10 assists to lighten the pain.  Let's get some runs!!!

Another shining example of why no starting pitcher in their right mind would even consider playing for us.

Solo homer for Overbay, 3-0 Jays.

Frank does not want Zimmerman or Guillen to hit Soriano in because
1) They have less experience than Vidro and Clayton
2) They have more RBIs than Vidro or Clayton which
3) Might cause us to win.
And we serve up another homer...
....

Nationals 0
Blue Jays 3

Boy its one of these nights again huh. It feels rotten to waste one of Ortiz's better appearances.
