Jose Reyes (calf) said Sunday that there was no chance that he'd return to the lineup on Monday.
That's when the Mets were hoping to have him back at shortstop. Reyes, though, decided against testing his injury by running today. With Ramon Martinez bothered by a sore back, Fernando Tatis could start at shortstop tomorrow. May. 24 - 7:42 pm et

Mets manager Jerry Manuel said Sunday that OF Carlos Beltran, who was the DH this past weekend because of a bruised right knee, could play in the field Monday if he feels the same. Beltran went 1-for-4 on Sunday against the Red Sox with an RBI.

Church and K-Rod are also banged up and might miss some of this series.

The New York Daily News reports that Mets OF prospect Fernando Martinez could be called up if OF Ryan Church (hamstring) ends up on the 15-day DL soon. Martinez, 20, is hitting .294 with seven homers and 26 RBI at Triple-A Buffalo.

4 lefties too. :spaz:

We are one of the worst teams against LHPs. 4-8 record when facing LH starters.

As a team, the Nats bat .264 vs Lefties, 15th in MLB. They bat .276 against Righties, 4th in MLB.

I think one of our problems against lefties may have been that Manny switches up the lineup to stack it with as many righties as possible - which on the surface can make sense - but for whatever reason it has resulted in weaker lineups offensively and defensively. I think alot of that has been due to the struggles at the plate of Belliard and the removal of guys like Hernandez and particularly Harris.

Nevertheless, you expect a guy like Dunn to be neutralized to some extent by the LHPs. It really means that guys like Kearns, Willingham, and Belliard have to step up and take advantage of the matchups.

Belliard is 9/15 with a Double and HR life-time off of Maine.

I still hope Acta doesn't start him over AH.

Tonight could be the biggest collection of Latinos in a starting lineup ever if Manny starts Fat Ronnie and Nieves.

Let's see how the rest of the league does now that Scott Olsen's on the DL.

With those Memorial Day hats being almost the same color as our home ones, we finally get to see what the home red hats look like with these unis, and so far, the few shots I've seen look really good, IMO.  I'd love to see them go with the red hats and socks on the road, maybe next year.
