Screw you Mike Rizzo
« on: May 05, 2009, 06:22:28 pm »
what a freaking idiot. Thanks for bringing in Kip Wells, Julian Tavarez, etc. These guys are pieces of crap plain and simple. Can't even hold a lead.

Garrett Mock needs to get demoted to AAA and stay there permanently. What a nag he is. :bang:

Thanks for trying to fix the bullpen, Mike. you are doing a great job

Syracuse's bullpen in AAA is better than ours'.

i agree he hasn't been as great as a lot of us thought, but those guys are here in the first place because of bowden.

I don't understand why we trot our garbage every day when we have a young reliever in AAA pitching great.

They need to just eat some of Kearns' salary and swing a trade for bullpen help.  Soon.

who gives a crap? I'm talking about NOW, the present. What is Rizzo doing to fix this situation? He has arguably only made our bullpen worse by acquiring horrible bums like Kensing, Tavarez, and Wells.

this is unacceptable. Our offense is outstanding. With decent relief pitching we'd easily be .500 right now. makes me sick. today's game should have been a cold stone lock win TWICE and they blew it.

Mock was nearly the worst of all. he's just gross.

Call up Bergmann, Clippard, and Stammen. that is a good start to fixing this mess.

Get rid of D-Crab, Mock, and Tavarez.

make a trade involving AK and/or NJ for a bonafide reliever to replace Wells' sorry ass.

Getting a decent reliever in a trade is a pipe dream.  Let it go...

hahahahaha

dude he's stuck in this situation.  and what trading chips do we have?  if we get rid of johnson, our offense falls off and you'd be screaming at rizzo why we have brad eldred/kory casto playing over there.

bowden picked up those guys and i'm sure rizzo/manny don't want to be throwing them out there, but they have no choice.  that's why they are picking up these guys with risk/reward opportunities like macdougal and villone ... maybe they can come in.

i do agree though, tyler clippard should be up now.  jesus colome will be up in a couple weeks.

wtf? The Marlins got Leo Nunez for Mike Jacobs. NJ > Mike Jacobs. Leo Nunez > all of the Nats relievers

Someone like a Rauch would be great (except not Rauch since he has gone down the gutter in Arizona).

Dunn can play 1B! Eldred and Casto will not see the light of day. NJ is an asset to this team but if we can get a fairly young starter/reliever for him we should make the move.

Villone is garbage. He walks way too many batters. Same with MacDougal.

There is no defending Rizzo. he's clueless.

1 month of healthy play vs 2 injury riddled years.  Nick Johnson will have to prove he can stay healthy before anyone gives up anything decent for him.  I would say he needs at least another month before he gets serious interest from other teams.

i do agree that rizzo needs to stop worrying about "inventory" and start fixing the damn pen. but even so, i see sf once again ranting against the guys he doesnt like while absolving his boys of any blame.

I don't know what else they need to see. All of his past injuries have been of "freak" variety. He's drawing walks, hitting for a real high average, and playing good defense. He's one of the best overall 1B-man in the league. He's in the last year of his contract so it's doubtful he'll be here next year anyways.

I really don't care how Rizzo improves the pen though. Doesn't have to be by trading NJ. explore other options besides scraping the bottom of the dumpster for other teams' cast-offs. :?

how so?

fire the entire bullpen. all of them. I used to like Mock but he's turned into nothing more than a cocky crapbag pitcher.

this situation reminds me of when the zards got rid of eddie jordan and were like okay tapscott work your magic with this roster.  (except i think eddie jordan has a tons of more skill at his job than bowden)

It doesn't matter if they were freak injuries or not, one month of good play isn't enough value.  Rizzo has to do something, that is obvious, but it isn't an easy situation right now.  They are dealing from a place of desperation, so they are likely to get fleeced on a trade deal.  And then it isn't exactly like there is quality relievers just waiting to be signed.  This was an issue that should have been addressed in the off-season and wasn't, there isn't many options at this point in the season.

I understand it's a tough situation but that is Rizzo's job and right now he is not doing it very well.

Our offense is way too good for us to have this bad of a record. It's a shame really. we could be .500 and right in the NL East Division race.

this team has far more talent than that wizards squad.

look at the offense. wow. the relief pitching is just unacceptable. I am just stunned that every single guy out there is having a disastrous season. I could understand if 1-2 guys were having bad years but all of them?! it's ridiculous.

Guys that used to be able to throw strikes (Tavarez, Rivera, Mock, etc) have lost all control whatsoever.

The idea that we should trade Nick Johnson for a reliever in order to salvage this season might be one of the funnier things posted here!

Wait... that wasn't a joke?

Oh.  Well.

the offense and starting pitching (for most part) is like a healthy gil/butler/jamison, while the defense and relief pitching are like whoever is filling in at center and point guard.

This is NJ's last year on his contract with us. Why not dump him at maximum value and acquire a young starter/reliever?
