Wow, Gonzalez already has 5 errors?  I thought fielding was his thing.

Hey guys, not sure if you were aware, but we won.

Honestly my first reaction to Hanrahan closing is to do a six armed version of hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil monkey dance. We won so few lately that yes I did actually notice. A nice change of pace to unblock the ears and open the eyes to discovery Hanrahan hasn't lost us another game.

Celebrate the win tonight.  Complain if you must in the morning.  That's my moto.

Errors are a bad metric.

But that's still unbelievably bad for him.

Yeah, 5 errors this early is terrible no matter what. He's pretty much been worthless.

Yeah, you have to celebrate the win. The team played well enough to win. But given that Joel completely spazzed on that last pitch, had Escobar not swung, because Flores was expecting a slider away, the tying run may have scored on a passed ball. Joel is a spaz. If he would just control himself mentally, he has stuff to get guys out. But you can't walk leadoff guys and fail to locate pitches to every batter and make it.

True, but his errors are a legit indicator in his case. He's been awful in the field. Hernandez is actually around for his glove. Gonzales has really struggled. We're not talking isolated incidents. He's had several issues every game. I'd like to see Espinoza at some point if Guzman misses much time.

7 strikes out of 15 pitches will get you out of the inning unscathed, 1 out of every 10 times and that will be due to luck.  Hanrahan is never going to survive as a closer or bullpen member unless he throws strikes, that is what it comes down to.  It doesn't matter if it is mental, mechanical, or what have you, he NEEDS to throw strikes.

I'm not going to disagree.  I'm also not going to cry over it 10 minutes after the game is over after the weekend we just had.  I'll take it however it comes at this point.  Next time, I expect him to build on this one.

Espinosa is going to be a special player and he is good now, but isn't ready for the majors.  Plenty of players have killed it in the Carolina league and then fizzled in the Eastern league.  They will go for Cintron or Desmond before Espinosa anyway.  I would reconsider this if Espinosa raked at Harrisburg once he is promoted, but there is no guarantees that this happens soon with Desmond blocking the way.

I heard Desmond's wrist started hurting him again and he went to go see a doctor. He hasn't played since sometime last week I believe. figures, he was off to a good start too. :?
